That's at least 90% true, which is better than CNN can manage.

Because you, and anybody outside the US, will never understand what Freedom is.

You've never truly experienced it, or even wanted it, so I don't see any hope for you to understand it.

hundreds of millions? How many Americans are there? How many own guns? ~ 300M Americans, ~ 1/3rd of adults own guns.

And then theres the question of if we are all being smeared. I don't feel like I'm being smeared by Rasta even though I own guns but perhaps I am. I don't own any AR-15's or Military style assault weapons. Neither do the majority of other gun owners. So, how many people are really being smeared?

Probably at least 75% of all gun owners.

Most Americans who have served in the military have so-called military style weapons, as do their heirs. AR15's are one of the most widely owned firearms available.

Evil and sadistic. Why can't they keep their own demons to themselves and eliminate their existence?

AR'15's are far and away the most popular Military assault style rifles and it's estimated that there are about 5 million AR'15 owners. That's still a lot.

How many Mini14's are there. It is, was called the Rancher's Rifle. Same round, as the AR, but availble before AR.
Millions as I recall, but I don't know for sure. Never hear it referred to as an assault rifle.
I have to admitt though, I did assault some coyotes with it that were trying to get at the young Canadian Geese I was protecting.

I guess it doesn't scare people like the AR which looks something like the M16. The Mini14 looks more like the old Marine 30 cal carbine.
    Old fashion, therefore not scary.

I've had fun a couple times with a Mini 14. No idea how many there are, I looked around briefly online for an answer but couldn't find one. I know they are quite common, but I not close to the AR-15 in popularity. Just from personal experience, you go to a rifle range, AR and AK's (or variants) but I almost never see anyone at a range with a Mini 14.

Not surprising. I can't think of time I ever went to a range with mine. They won't let you practice mowing down a pack of coyotes like you can on the ranch.
The range marshall would lose his mind when you dump a 30 mag in 8 seconds or so.

Don't know jack shit about guns but one of the most memorable experiences I remember having being a judgemental asshole was getting taken to a gun show by a friend 5 or 6 years ago.

I just couldn't stop looking around at all the Harley shirt wearing morons drooling over the neato guns.

I'm sorry but it is just stupid. This friend was a guy I worked with who wouldn't spend a few bucks to get his car on the road so his wife had to drop him off at work and pick him up after.

Then he cashed out an old 401k and bought more guns and he still kept on making her his chauffeur.

Full on crazy in my opinion.

I used to shoot at a range in Vancouver and they let us shoot anything. I shot AK's and all sorts of rifles. Got to shoot an FN Scar there. Also a place Eastern WA. It depends on the place I guess.

Yes we have a "natural right" to guns because they grow around us in abundance and are essential for sustenance. Just like all the great political thinkers, Plato, Aristotle, Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau et al always insisted.

Oh shit, I never realized! Please give us a precise definition of "politicizing" so we will know how to avoid this in future. As a resident of Flint, I'm very afraid we have been "politicizing" the whole lead-in-the-water thing!

The suspect was stopped by two armed citizens, one of which was an NRA weapons instructor. They lived nearby, heard the shots and immedately engaged the suspect, ending the shooting abruptly. The suspect fled, with more weapons and ammo and was pursued by the two men until he wrecked his car and succombed to injuries.

Thought that might be relevant. Surprised it hadn't been mentioned.
