We can blame CJ dame Nurkic but the reality is we lean way too heavily on three players while our only role player with any sort of consistency is Ed Davis, and he's a rebounder. I'm going to die begging for a wing that can put a basketball into a fucking net.

You mean as long as Stotts is smart enough to figure out when to avoid Shabazz getting switched on to 7' Centers?

Yeah CJ really choked on that 3 ball to pull us within 1. Sleep on it and come to your senses.

7-25 from Dame/Nurkic. They were fortunate to be as close as they were.

Damian Dillard 4-16 0-5 from 3 If he just had a bad game rather than a shitty game, we'd have won.

I feel like Pat has lost the edge he had in the first few games. He looks hesitant and less confident.

And they got him for such a bargain... yet our GM chose not to go after guys like him and instead kept Layman who likely doesn't have a future with this team past 2020

He played good defense though. Conley is a tough matchup, Curry seems to struggle against him too.

Because they are a middle of the road team at this point. Losing to the good teams, beating the bad ones.

I think it has more to do with him proving he can shoot and teams not leaving him wide open anymore.

Occasionally beating a good team and then dropping some to bad teams.

    Blazers era 2015-

We are not in a good spot. We are at Kevin Martin in Houston level of treadmill.

What does that have to do with Napier? Stotts does that with every player.

I've shitted on Connaughton enough but the blame should fall on Olsheys shoulders instead. We'll see what he does before the deadline, but I'm not expecting anything from him anymore.

The real disappointment is Harkless. It's almost time to give Layman a look. A real one. Not some mop up minutes in a pickup game.

I thought he passed on a few shots the last couple of games that he was shooting confidently to start the season. And he also was taking the ball to the basket with more authority and now he looks afraid to take a dribble inside the 3 point line and then he just ends up picking it up because he's afraid of getting stripped and holds the ball like he doesn't know what to do with it.

We are a good SF away from really being good.

I don’t think we’ll win more than 40 wins this year. That’s ok tho we still need one more impact level starter. Harkless spot is clearly the missing link.

Until then we will be good enough to hang in there and play hard but eventually it’ll be tough to close games out

You could see the lack of leadership from Stotts in this game. Watching the two teams side-by-side was sobering: Portland looked lost and just throwing the ball around in a panicky state, whereas Memphis stuck to their plays, screened the right players solidly, passed the ball with purpose, and knew exactly what they were doing.

    Portland didn't have a clue.

And then Stotts doesn't use a TO when we had it?

    This loss is....once again....on Stotts.
