We need to figure out what our 82 win team is and go with that the rest of the year. #coaching

I think this Wizards team is pretty close to being competitive against the best when everyone is fit (which is a big if with Wall's and Beal's history). They are IMO nailed on to go for Cousins before the deadline and can get it done with Otto Porter, or even a package of Gortat, Oubre Jr and another player plus pick. If they could get DMC without offering Porter they will be up there.

Yeah I think I would keep Porter as well if I am the Wiz. And if I am the Pelicans I am not sure I make the trade without him. Gordat and Porter are both shooting well over 50% from the field and pulling down a combine 16 boards. Do they need more scoring with Wall and Beal on the floor? DMC likes his touches. I would rather have him over Gordat, but not Porter too. Is Oubre valuable?

I think he is valuable, he is still fairly young at 22 and has shot the ball fine so far this season. Not to the extent where you could get a superstar in exchange for him but should still be worth something in a trade.

Again we don't really have anything they might like. He is their best bench option.

so you give up a good young guy like Porter and perhaps Gortat for a half yr rental of DMC who then becomes a UFA next summer and can sign wherever he wants? Do you really take that risk and give up that much for Boogie? I don't, especially a talented loser and disruptive influence like him

Cousins is good friends with Wall. You would need to be sure he is going to sign with you next Summer, of course.

I was curious to see if Lonzo's shooting numbers got better... .315/.250/.429

    That's insane... that's a G-League level shooting line

Even if you replace his FG% with his FT% and his 3pt% with his FG%, it's still bad.

Don't see why he wouldn't. Mahinmi, Smith, and 2/3 future 1sts might get it done.

Definitely not. Porter is as good of a fit next to their stars as Cousins. One of the most underrated players in the league. I wouldn't trade Porter for Cousins straight up.

Just another reason why I'm glad Portland has Damian Lillard.

Porter makes $27M in 2019 though and Wall will start making $37M and there is also Beal who will also cost $27M. You can't have Cousins making $35M with them, someone needs to go.

Yeah you can, just would have cheap role players and an owner willing to pay luxery tax for a contender.

What is a contender? WCFs? Not enough imo. The team has to make finals repeatedly to pay that kind of bill. Even the Warriors are likely to break up their team at some point due to the tax and they are winning (not just getting to) the finals more often than not.
