Calling me a Pat nonbeliever would be like calling you a Nurk hater.

He hasn't grasped that there are flaws in players and that we can love them regardless... it'll take some time.

Once Nurk harnesses his wild dribbling and sometimes too-hard shot, he'll be an even bigger beast.

Because we understand the concept of TEAM defense.

I can appreciate this post, but Pat really doesn't add to our team defese. He does stretch the floor though opening passing lanes

Agree to disagree, I'm fine with that. He's been contributing.

For a guy who a lot of fans have derided as a talentless unathletic scrub, Pat sure makes A LOT of good, heady basketball plays over the course of a game. He's a classic glue guy, and a damn good shooter.

Pat is probably not the long term solution at SF, but his presence in the starting lineup sure demonstrates the difference an extra outside shooter means to this team.

It's not just the shooting, though. He plays like he cares, and he's never out of position on either end of the floor. Same can't be said of Harkless. I'd be perfectly fine playing a Moe who shot 30% from 3 if he played hard and crashed the boards or made sharp cuts, etc.

Pat's size makes this move unsustainable unfortunately, but he just plays solid when he's out there. What a change from just 2 months ago when I thought we'd cut him.

Pat should be our primary backup wing this season. A tall long lineup with Aminu at SF is tenable if he can keep up his shooting, and if you have a good shooter behind him; that's where Pat will make his money. Harkless has fallen into one of his pouting sessions unfortunately. I don't know if Dame will invest the time to dig him out a third time.

Yeah that was my point as well. His size is a little small for SF. He is the same height as Wes but only around 210.

I will say his 37.5" no step vertical does not hurt. (44" max)

Did we ? I'm not even watching the WC Qualifiers because... well, I don't know most of the players on the team.
If we qualify, we're probably gonna have at least 10 differents players on the WC roster, that's stupid

On paper that definitely sounds good. He could do it if he just shot the corner 3's.

Where he is not as good as Pat, and where it could hurt the team......is not having the 3rd ball handler. The offense flows a lot better with 3 guards. But I would love to see Aminu and his huge wingspan at SF work out. He just has to acknowledge his limitations on offense. He can hit the wide open short 3, but not the contested long 3. (So just shoot the short 3's) Dribbling in traffic against smaller players........not a good idea. So don't do it. But taking a slower big man off the dribble and attacking the rim....that has worked well.

That's what I like about Vonleh. Some people think he is not aggressive enough on offense, I on the other hand appreciate that he knows that there are 3 players on the court who are better shooters, so he gets them the ball. Like Harry said......"A man's got to know his limitations".
