I view Racism as hateful or a deliberate pattern of action (i.e. systematic racism) against an ethnicity. I view racial insensitivity as something offensive to a group of people that the oppressor either doesn't realize or doesn't care. The "Redskins" is racially insensitive to me, as it's offensive to natives but the ownership group doesn't care or believes that it isn't. I don't believe the name comes from a place of hatred within the people who want to keep it. A lot of people classify both things under "racism", but I differentiate the two. That's not to justify either, as both are just as bad as their oppressive and hurtful. A lot of time, it's hard to differentiate the two. If you understood this you'd understand my point of view on this whole topic.

It's some black mirror level shit. It isn't enough to say "yeah, he shouldn't say that" or agree not to say it because someone finds it offensive. You have to say you agree with why you can't say it. And you have to be firm that anyone who disagrees that it is offensive is a piece of shit. Even if that person never says it. You're literally wrong for having a different opinion. A different opinion is unacceptable.
The context of whether it's mocking someone's perceived lies about their heritage compared to the context of mocking an ethnicity is the difference to me. That doesn't mean I'm justifying racism...
