When you use terms such as "reverse racism", you lose ground. There literally is no such thing. And YES calling a black man boy is worse than calling a white man boy. Under the constitution we are STILL considered 3/5ths human.
It IS a black/brown/person of color and white issue. You always have to consider the power dynamics and historical context. I'll put it a different way... as a woman I can call my best girl friend a bitch and mean it as a term of endearment - but if you, as a man, do it... prepare to get your face slapped. Proper names such as Tyrone/Jerome/Pocahontas can be and are used as racial slurs. @dviss1 has probably called some African American friends the N word over the years but I don't ever say that word because I'm not a person of color and it has a completely different meaning when it comes out of my mouth.
Yeah...saying “boy” to a black man is much much different. I would not appreciate being called boy either but it’s a whole different deal for a black man. People who say “rappers say the N word why can’t I”...are probably racist. How about you just don’t say it and let black people say what they want?
No it is not... white men have historically had ALL the power and still have most of the power in society to this day. When you call an African American man "Boy" it is meant to diminish his stature. It is why protesters in Memphis in 1968 were wearing signs saying "I AM A MAN". It's 50 years later and we're still questioning this?!?

I am getting reminded of the time Bill O'Reilly went to a restaurant with Al Sharpton and was astonished that the mostly black clientele behaved like civilized people, rather than shouting "Yo, m-f, bring me iced tea".
That's not correct, dviss1. the three-fifths clause (Article I, Section 2, of the U.S. Constitution of 1787) said that for purposes of representation in Congress, enslaved blacks in a state would be counted as three-fifths of the number of white inhabitants of that state. The 14th Amendment specifically changed that. First it clarified that "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." It went on to say, "Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed."

I don’t think dviss is a bad guy at all. I just don’t understand his logic. It never said that blacks were 3/5 of a person. It said that the number of enslaved blacks only counted 3/5th as much as citizens did when determining representation. The purpose of that fractional count wasn't to deprive enslaved blacks of representation (they had none anyway), but rather to keep slave states from having MORE power by letting them have credit for the full number of disenfranchised slaves that lived there. I agree that it's an ugly provision of the Constitution and I'd love to see the document rewritten to remove any reference to slavery.
