I've read a lot of military reactions to shootings saying that military training, when properly applied, is basically the opposite of what happens. A problem is that they have the military equipment, but probably not the psychological training (the "nation building" stuff that involves not shooting civilians).

I honestly dont think it's training at this point. I think it's psychological we just havent found a way to screen for what ever trait it is. Ive had very little training and never pulled my gun on anyone. A good friend of mine had a suspect at gun point who had a gun under his jacket. Officer knew it was under his jacket, and he begged and pleaded for him not to reach in jacket, luckily his partner knew what was about to happen, and flanked him with a taser as he began reaching in his jacket. My buddy said dude was about 2 seconds from getting shot and his partner screaming im going non lethal was the only thing that saved the dudes life. No one would have blamed him if he shot the guy. They found out later dude was trying to suicide by cop, but only got a good shock.

The eval they do is yes. And a lie detector? Those shits are so easy to fool, especially for a psychopath who isnt fazed emotionally by lieing or killing.
The best evaluation they could do is make them bring their highschool yearbook in and interview the candidates classmates. If you get more than one "that dude is a fucking nutjob" ....sorry
I dont know. My high school class would probably call me a nut job and i turned out pretty chill. I never had anger issues though, i laughed the first time someone punched me in the face, just to see how he'd react if i didnt react by fighting back.
I don't know how I feel about this video. Maybe there are other ways to apprehend people so that mistakes aren't made. Dude put his hands behind his back twice so I understand why the officers shot.

True. I only bullied bullies. Thats what got my first punch. Dude was bullying someone and while he was talking to a girl he liked i pinched his ass and kissed his cheek no homo of course. Was worth a sore face for 2 days cause it ruined his chances with her when i laughed at him and he got scared.
