Same for Ed Davis, who is much better than Collins.

Who exactly was Napier going to cover last night? Napier is a small guard. Thompson would have destroyed him as well as Livingston. Then you have Young. No reason to put Napier in that position. I agree he has his uses but not against bigger players.

It may be easy to see past Ed because we have so many bigs. But he gives a consistency no other big does. That's one thing In worried about if we trade him. Consistent production.

"Bazz' is very professional. He is confident in his ability, but understands his role on the team. That role can fluctuate from not playing to being part of the rotation.
He is always prepared. When I put him in a game, he is ready to play. If he doesn't play, he is still prepared to play."

Napier knows he could fall out of Stotts' rotation at any time. It has been his lot in life since he came into the NBA.

"It's not something I'm worried about," Napier says. "I understand coach (Stotts) has a job to do, to try to win games. We have a lot of good players at every position."

    Great article.
I guess Stotts thought GS and Houston were too big or long to play Napier? I just remember in the Houston game when McCollum was doing a terrible job of running point and I couldn't understand why Napier wasn't in there.

Yeah me too, don't know why stotts can not see that CJ isn't a good Ballhandler and leader. Napier is much better to create the offense

does it really matter this year? From what I seen we are mediocre and aren't going anywhere and Ed is a UFA next summer - so trading him for "something" seems a good idea and also open more time to play Collins/Vonleh

Whenever Napier is running the point it just works. Whenever CJ and Turner get the ball I am always waiting for the drive to the middle of the paint where they fuck up.

I swear some on here said the Spurs weren’t going to be good this season. I think their hate for LaMarcus blinded what small, tiny, minute bits of common sense they have.
