Fuck that. Not good enough. I say toss in whatever draft picks and maybe even Swannigan to make this happen.... This would help balance their roster, and ours.
The bolded isn't true. What's been said is that since he's starting, it's not plausible to bring him off the bench. And frankly, with our current lineup, that statement is still true.
we disagree...and for several years I've touted CJ as a stellar 6 man....only person agreed was BGD....now other members are starting to see my point, but still...only one other person here has ever really shown support for the idea...that's BGD and I'm not sure about your lineup statement....we need bench scoring more than 2 guard scoring ...and the 6 man has a green light to ballhog....the starters should spread the love more....off the bench CJ can dribble as much as he wants and dominate the second unit trying to guard him.
PC......with this roster...defense...no turnovers...rebounding...let Noah, or another starter get some shots up early....we need to promote double digit scoring for more than Dame and CJ....I've said this already...it's bugged me since we drafted CJ
Fwiw I've subscribed to this view for some time as well. We need Wes Matthews 2.0 in our starting linueup. Find that an all star SF is less of a necessity.
as we stand..he's the dude...could we upgrade...sure...but I think we play less selfishly with him out there and CJ would rock as a 6 man...not that I think any of this will ever happen..it's just what I'd try if I coached this roster
Utter B.S. Many here have said the same thing for years, but with the reservation that he's far too good for such a role that would be a demotion with our lineup options. Has anyone here argued against the idea that CJ would be the perfect 6th man on the right team?
You literally just advocated we start Connaughton over CJ. CJ is our leading scorer in the 1st quarter.
That's simply not true. Most everyone agreed, early on, that he'd be best suited to be our 6th man. It's just that now that he's been a starter - and a pretty damned good one - for a few seasons, most people understand that it's entirely unrealistic to demote him to a bench role. The ONLY coach who has the credibility to make that sort of move is Pops...and I don't think even he would start Pat over CJ...he'd know how to get CJ to play a more team-based game.
I never said it was a popular idea..actually I said it wasn't....I understand why....I've always said this about CJ..no argument there
Riiight... And down the road, you'll be back to saying you were the only one who felt CJ should come off the bench. Straw man much?
