You know why I'm not watching the games? because I'm 10 hours away in time zone, home games for me are in 5AM. But I've watched hundreds of games, and not on the television but on a computer screen, if I'm for some reason awake when they're airing I wouldn't miss a game, but to tell you that Meyers should play, that the starting five should be with ET and Meyers and that Chief can be very good off the bench, that to me is obvious. If we play Dame, CJ, ET, Meyers, Nurkic we'd have a 2nd unit of Bazz, Pat, Harkless, Aminu and Ed Davis. With the rookies also, at least, deserving of minutes. Furthermore, deciding at one point that Zach Collins for example is the next best thing but after a few games putting him on the Inactive list (No prophecy, just knowing the trends) isn't the way to coach this team. Swanigan for example, could give us very good minutes. Should he start? probably not. But should he not play at all? why?
It's not like we have Paul George or LeBron James waiting on the sidelines because he plays, or that we have a great young player with potential like Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram who could take his minutes and develop. We have Harkless who has been terrible, Turner who has been bad and is needed off the bench because nobody on it can handle the ball and that's about it. That's at small forward and at power forward there's not much either.
Aminu is awesome. I own his jersey. He's far and away our fourth best player when everyone is healthy. Great great signing by Olshey. He rebounds, defends, knocks down open shots AND he always plays well in playoffs. When everyone was quitting in Game 4 vs Warriors, Aminu (25 points) and Dame were the ones that showed pride. He did the same in Dallas.
Another issue: we have very many players, including even Harkless and also Chief, who are best suited to play either 4 or 5. What are we doing about it? Ideally, I wouldn't play anyone bigger than ET in any position SF or smaller. And everyone bigger than ET is half the team. So yes, Harkless can play the 3. But if we have Meyers, Nurkic, Chief, Vonleh. Swanigan, Collins, Ed Davis and ideally even Harkless playing two positions that's too many players
And yes, he's a good player, can have even good games but keeping things in perspective is important, because maybe sometimes he's even worth 40 minutes but most games he's a 15 minute player
My point is you need to find the best role for every player. Players should play based on their performance, based on which lineups are working and if you put Aminu or Harkless or Vonleh in the 2nd unit they'd do better than if they're in the starting 5
He's an elite three point shooter (2nd highest % in NBA) and a very good rebounder and defender. No forward on our team is better than Aminu in those areas. How do you not see that? Well as you said, you're not even watching the games. So you're bitching just to bitch. Aminu's play has been one of the good things to talk about this season.
Or better yet. Ask questions and then downplay the overwhelmingly similiar answers and be stubborn with your opinion having not watched the team but totally disregard most people’s opinions who have watched the game. Yep. The way of s2
Actually, Aminu has demonstrated that he can play well as starter and off bench. It's another great thing about him.
OK, Aminu should play. But he's not that good, you're giving him more credit than he deserves and it doesn't do him justice. He is good enough to play, OK, but he's not as good as you're portraying him and having realistic assessment of players abilities does them and the team better. Also, coaching decisions should be made based on situations, on intuition, on reading the game. Why is Swanigan getting DNPs for weeks? He couldn't have helped us in any situation through this games?
The answers to your questions have already been addressed. You must have a lot of people on ignore or you must only read your own posts or something. The answers to your questions are simple. You haven’t watched the games. I find it hilarious that someone can openly admit they don’t get to watch hardly any games but yet have such a strong opinion on who should and shouldn’t be playing... and basically tell others who do watch the game, they are wrong. This thread is rediculous.... Next?
Don't give your opinion on the team If you don't watch the fucking games. Btw home games are at 4AM for me too (and @Mr. Robot ) and we watch them all ! get on our level !
