are U serious or did you feel some need to start a thread? guy plays good D and one of the few guys besides Dame and CJ who can consistently make 3's this yr, what a waste of a thread. I nominate this for worst thread of the week
Aminu is my #1 frustration with Stotts, it’s like some kind of crutch he relies on playing him at the 4 for his entire career he has bred a defensive 3... Now he is hitting 3pt shots. He is our best SF, Vonleh is our best PF, but Stotts refuses to start then that way or even use Aminu as a SF at all.
Obvious troll is obvious. That said, Aminu is playing OK, but have you seen the dog shit options behind him?
I think he's hung up on that net rating from the second half of 2016 when the Dame-CJ-Hark-Aminu-Plums lineup was like second in the league behind GS for a stretch.
The reason why Aminu is playing is because when Harkless is on the court he's about as interesting as a TV dinner.
Aminu just logged a Double Double. He probably just played his best game all season. Really was down on him over the summer. But he has really improved his shot. They are falling. The team is playing better when he is on the court. He still should never try to create a shot for himself. At All! He is however putting up good numbers. He has played 15 games this season. That was his second double D. not really consistent enough but he does seem to be improving.
Harkless should come of the bench as well.., the starting lineup should be Dame, CJ, ET, Meyers, Nurkic, and Aminu is better as a 4 and in my opinion Harkless is better as a 4
Wait... Do we really have to deal with this shit? I mean, you don't watch the game and have something to complain about after looking at a box score... You say "Meyers deserves a chance" when he's HURT and CAN'T play... I mean, Aminu has a double double (15 pts, 13 rebs) while shooting 50% from the field and is 5/8 from 3. FIVE FOR EIGHT FROM 3 IN AN AWAY GAME... We FUCKING WIN... We break a 5 game losing streak... And you have the unmitigated GALL to come in here, whilst simultaneously admitting you DIDN'T watch the game, and complain about the guy who EARNED THE GAME BALL... Getting too many minutes... My question is... How could you look at that box score and complain??
I said crazy Meyers Leonard, did I have to watch the game to say that? don't take my words out of context.
What the hell are you talking about. You said "crazy Meyers Leonard deserves a chance". I don't know how to take that except to think you meant he needed to play yesterday. If that's the case, HE COULDN'T... And WE WON. "CHIEF" was the best player on the floor...
I know he has been crap lately but I would say CJ was the best player on the floor yesterday. Aminu had a heck of a game too though.
You can't question why Aminu is playing and then assert that Turner or Meyers (let alone both!) should be starting - especially at positions they aren't suited to play. Meyers might deserve some minutes in certain situations, but not a regular role. Turner doesn't deserve to have his name on an NBA jersey. I'm with you on hating Aminu. But the fact remains that he isn't nearly as detrimental to the team as he has been in the past, and with the way Harkless is playing this season Aminu deserves minutes by default. Right now he's hitting his shots (doubt it'll last, but hopefully it does), and isn't dribbling like an idiot as much which has cut down on his idiotic, momentum-killing turnovers. Yes, I still BADLY want to trade him, or at least have him play 15m off the bench. It's inconceivable that Stotts is still playing him at PF, where we have 2 or 3 good young prospects that deserve minutes, while we don't have a single player worthy of SF starter-minutes, and Aminu is decently suited to play SF. This is one of the dumbest things Tater Totts has done/is doing...and he does A LOT of dumb shit.
And Ukraine and Israel are in the same time zone and I don't think I missed more than one or two games in my eight years there.
There are 2 sides of the ball. CJ never looks good on D and didn't yesterday. I stand by my assertion that Aminu was the best player.
Your opinion is wrong. Aminu, and especially No Show Mo are best at the 3. Both, especially Harkless, are physically overmatched at the 4 on most nights. Harkless is sleepwalking through this season and playing like absolute dog shit. If you were watching the games, this would be as obvious to you as it is to everyone else. Even when Mo is playing his best, he's a weak rebounder for a small forward. As a power forward, his rebounding is abysmal. He doesn't deserve minutes at all right now, but I never want to see Maurice Harkless at power forward in a Blazer uniform again - ever. Move Aminu back to his natural small forward position, where he is the one with the physical advantage on most nights. He's has consistently been the best post-Wesley Matthews Achilles injury perimeter defender on this roster. And now he's even shooting the 3 better than Wes ever did. Consider this: 2016-17 Allen Crabbe .444 3FG% on 1.7 made 3-pointers per game. 2017-18 Al-Farouq Aminu .484 3FG on 2.2 made 3-pointers per game. Yeah, I know the season is a long way from over, but so far, Chief is shooting a higher percentage from 3 on more attempts than Crabbe did last year. Plus, unlike Crabbe, he plays great defense and is an excellent rebounder. Stotts has his answer for a 3 and D small forward, he just needs to play him there. When Nurk come back, he obviously starts at center. I'd love to see Collins starting next to him at the 4, but would also be fine with Vonleh starting and Collins backing up both front court positions. And for the love of god, start Aminu at the 3! Evan Turner has been hot garbage. Maurice Harkless has been invisible and Pat Connaught on is too short. Aminu is the best small forward this team has, and its not close. BNM
