Now that it's almost 2018, we're headed into the annual 6 week, end of the season, play-great-and-fake-everyone-out roller coaster. Who or what will it be this year? A trade getting rid of someone we hate, or getting someone we love? A game winner by Dame propelling us on a mini-streak? The faux-emergence of a role player after someone gets hurt? Just color me cynical and so very bored of this team.
Deck is about to get shuffled around Portland....we're not alone...there are good players on other teams in the same boat....see OKC...Utah...Phoenix....Neil has to be workin' the phones hard about now..
Haha!! @Chris Craig. They stopped coming to my house when I asked them about 2nd Nephi 5:21-25. They also didn't like how I questioned their posthumous baptisms... They quickly learned my door was not the one to knock on.
If you use a few well placed line breaks you can cut this up and send it to Dame for a couple of 4 bar Fridays!
They stopped coming to my house when my inebriated neighbor chased them 15 blocks till they jumped into the back of a pickup truck and were never seen again.
Nailed it! But, more importantly, is this year's version of this annual event real or an illusion? And why does it happen every year?
It happens because Lillard gets snubbed and goes into Super Saiyan Mode. I don't think they are fake at all. Last year we get beat by the Warriors, as would any team that faced them regardless of seeding, in the first round but that was without Nurkic for all but half a game. If we had him for the entire series we would have a shot at extending the series to 6 games and our team would have looked much different. If we are fake because we didn't have a shot at beating the warriors then every team in the playoffs was fake. If we had faced Houston or Clippers I think wed have had a shot at an upset if Nurk was healthy, not a big shot but still a shot but our second half run was almost entirely on how well Nurkic just fit and alleviate a lot of our problems on both sides of the court.
