Figured since we have three guys on assignment we’d have one thread to keep tabs on them. Swanigan plays tonight at 5PST. Game will be on Facebook live (canton charge) and on ESPNU.
As an aside, I think I figured out why Swanigan lost his PT. Check out his twitter handle. He's gonna have to do something about that...
Swanigan: 10 points (3-8) 11 rebounds, 1 steal in 28 minutes. Watched most of it. Swanigan got switched onto guards on the perimeter (his biggest weakness) but held his own. Other than that it was a standard Biggie performance. A lot of hustle. Inconsistent shooting. Offensively he really struggles inside to create space to get a shot off. His lack of explosion hurts him. He’s going to have to learn to be more crafty but that’s only going to come with experience. The encouraging thing is he’s got a good bball IQ so he should figure it out eventually. Still wouldn’t take him over Vonleh though.
It’s a developmental league, individual performances are pretty much all that matter. Players start with no practice time, they come and go, etc etc. Rosters change constantly. Hardly much resemblance to an actual team, so it’d be tough to judge collective performances.
...right? Time to get the twitter brigade together and start blasting his account until he changes that shit off! He needs to understand that it may have been OK for a few hours on the night of retirement, but to still be up weeks later is NOT ACCEPTABLE around these parts
Anyone watch either Swanigan or Baldwin IV games tonight? Box scores look like both had good games. I was hoping to get a rundown without subjecting myself to the misery of watching the painful gleague games.
Yeah just finished Baldwins game. 26 points (12-24 shooting), 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 1 turnover. Just keeps impressing me on both ends. Should've had a lot more assists if he wasn't surrounded by scrubs. Under control yet flashy, if that makes any sense. Can't wait to see him get called up.
If Baldwin and Swanigan can turn into serviceable players that would go a little ways to helping us force some trades. I don't know if we have much of a window on Shabazz but we could stand to trade a big.
Yeah. Napier is better than Baldwin right now, but is he $8-10m better? I doubt it. Napier is one of our better trade chips. We're not a contender, may as well use him to help balance the roster out, or dump salary.
