That is fabulous. Do it the English way. Stick a red hot poker up his ass (Tudors-Henry the 8th episodes).

    • Teams are targeting the availability of Brooklyn's DeMarre Carroll, Utah's Alec Burks, Orlando's Evan Fournier and Atlanta's Kent Bazemore, among others.
      ----------

From the Woj article. I'd be interested in any of them, depending on the price, but I think I'd rather take a chance on a lesser established player, like Malik Beasley.

Juan Hernangomez is another name. He's been a healthy inactive for Denver. I like his game and it'd be an Olshey type move.

It would be pretty amazing if Brooklyn got a 1st rounder for Carroll after being given two just to take him on! 3 First rounders to a half year of overpaid (but not so much now that performing again) guy is amazing.

Not sure what your point is?

We drafted two bigs last year. Could have taken a flier instead of Swanigan?

Could have hypothetically traded CJ to move up and grab someone, tgen took a SG at 10 instead of a PF/C?

    Well, I read about him.

Top shooting % at FT and 2-pointers, good for a forward at 3s. He has always played guard. He's been the starter on all 7 of his teams, for most games. His age is 32.

He's a better dribbler than, say, Crabbe, or any of our forwards except Turner. Good dribbler with moves on video I saw, not of course in the class of our guards.

He's playing more aggressively this year, the reason being Carmelo leaving, according to the RealGM Knicks board. ("He's a Rick Fox.")

Less than 2 years ago, Memphis traded him to Charlotte for 4 2nd-round picks. The Knicks then stole him by doubling his pay to $12M per year.

Remember that a Knick dollar is a Blazer peso. His stats jumped up when he joined them a year ago.

    injury report

He would improve our dribbling at forward, for drives to the basket. His pay is higher than what I was thinking, and he's older. I'm hoping to cut payroll. If we got back a 1st round pick...it would be an expensive price for a pick...probably not. Also, you want to give Napier and Davis, my 2 favorite players.

I also like Napier and Davis, but they both have positive trade value (you need to give something of value to get something of value - usually) and both will be FAs this summer. We may not be able to bring them back anyway. In which case it's better to get something for them than to let them walk for nothing.

My only point is that there wasn’t a lot of talent at the SF spot in last year’s draft. Only four guys at that position went in the first round. Tatum and Josh Jackson were out of reach at 3 and 4. Neither of those guys is showing anything like enough impact to be worth parting with CJ. Justin Jackson and Anunoby look like a whole lot of meh, but still went at 15 and 23. They weren’t good enough to take at Collins’s spot, but still went before Swanigan because of the scarcity of guys at that position.

I would like to see us try to pick up a guy like Terrence Ross, he has 3 point ability (although is struggling this year) and is VERY athletic.

There are so few decent wings in the league right now.

Which is so bizarre considering it used to be the deepest, and easiest to fill, position in the league.

I agree. IMO the Bulls will trade Nikola one way or the other. That has been their problem through the last 5 years or so. They let people expire or walk with no asset in return. We are in rebuild. Nikola is much improved, finally, but he sill not be a bull for much longer. I predict he will be traded in a week or so, that way Bulls could see what interest Lopez can draw.

As for leverage for the Bulls? lol you are right. Bulls usually do not have leverage on much of anything.

Blazers could use his scoring and rebounding. You need cap relief as well.

Utah and Detroit has interest as well.

Since you’re here and know the team better than we do, what’s the feeling around there, what does Chicago need? Are fans interested in Harkless lol

Apparently, the Bulls want a 1st rounder + expiring contracts for Mirotic. That certainly won't happen, so it'll be interesting to see what they'll actually take.

lockedonjazz talks Mirotic - says he's probably just an average (35%) 3 point shooting and it's likely that his current tear is an aberration.

Yes fans like Harkless. We need a wing and would want a pick as well. The younger the player the better. We could use a back up pg as well. Rumor has it Grant is included in a trade to Detroit with Mirotic for Johnon, Jon Leuer and a lottery protected first. So maybe they want to move Grant at deadline? Cameron Payne will not be the ideal back up pg. Bulls would not want long term players, however, if Blazers insist on that picks would have to come back to Chicago.

They can't trade him until January 15th, but that still gives them a 3 and a half week window before the trade deadline on February 8.

Yes, we need to shed just under 3 million to get under the luxury tax threshold. Would the Bulls be willing to take back $15.5 million in salary for Mirotic's $12.5 million. They are way under the cap, but I'm sure they'd like to preserve as much space as possible to go after free agents next summer. We have Ed Davis, who is an expiring contract at about $6.35 million, plus several other smaller non-guaranteed contracts that the Bulls could rescind, if they wished (Noah Vonleh, Shabazz Napier, etc.).

I'm not sure we could come up with a package that would appeal to the Bulls, unless we sweetened it with a 1st round pick, and I'm not sure Portland would be willing to do that.

agreed. One can always want. The difference this time is Mirotic will be traded. Portis is playing almost as well as Nikola. And he is 3 or 4 year younger.

yes Bulls would take back short term money as well. We have space to make such a trade.

You would make good trade partners. The sticking point is the #1 pick and the fact that Bulls have interest from two other teams.

Yes technically teams have until Feb 8 to trade, but Nikola can be traded on or after the 15th of this month.
