I would ideally like to keep Shabazz and trade CJ... but knowing Neil will never break up McLillard, I think a trade of Shabazz, Ed, and Harkless for Mirotic makes sense for both sides. We get a stretch 4 who leads the league in 3pt % and shave off like 8 mil salary.... Bulls get a potential starting PG and SF

No idea? Just saying it's what we need rather than, yet another, stretch 4

Not really. It had literally nothing to do with my response.

For 8-12 mpg, I'm sure he could.

If you trade CJ though, and keep Bazz..... what then?

Depends on what you get in return, but with the current roster, I'd think you would start Pat at the 2, and then move Dame to 2 when you bring Bazz in. Optimally, of course, any CJ trade would return a starting-caliber swingman, but I have no idea who that might be.

    How about.... Fournier/Gordon/Ross for CJ/Leonard/Vonleh?

    And then Harkless/Davis/pick for Mirotic?

    Dame/Bazz
    Turner/Ross
    Fournier/Aminu
    Gordon/Mirotic
    Nurk/Collins

Then our starting back court gets even smaller than they already are.

We have a couple combo guards in the G league......by next season they may be in game shape for the roster

CJ/Dame is not the problem. We can win title with that back court if we put the right guys around them. People say defense is the problem but our defense has been good this year. Trading CJ gives us a major hole arc SG unless Pat C is ready. People keep saying we should trade CJ for two way SF but PG, Durant, and Kawhi aren't available.

How is Mirotic's defense? We already 2 way stretch PF that can shoot. Aminu off bench? Then where does Collins get minutes?

CJ/Dame is clearly the problem. We have one of the deepest rosters in the NBA. Stop making excuses for them. The good news is it’s an easy problem to fix... they just need to erase their ISO ball mentality and play as a team... or else both are high value tradeable assets. It’s easy to blame to role players, but it’s hard for anyone to perform when they are not involved in the offense... put Dame in one of the bench players roles and he would struggle as well. Dame and CJ control whether we are 8th seed and 1st rd elimination or top 4 with a legit chance... it’s all about dropping their ego and letting the game come naturally within Stotts system.

Because we won't get back the value you want (or in the position we want) I don't see us trading CJ unless it is to rebuild. Not sure POR could sell a rebuild to Dame so I don't see CJ traded for a year in a half at least. Maybe at that point a stud SF will emerge that we could trade him for. I just don't see that player right now.

A run of bad games and everyone will be on the block again....winning makes everybody look good.....the question is do you sell high on a guy or not....how good are our G league players....lot of ifs around this time of year but not a lot of available SFs in the league unless you pony up a CJ type talent in a trade

I agree. We are better when Lillard or McCollum is out, as long as we have Napier. I watched the Jazz for a couple of games before they had injuries, and came running back to the Blazers. I found that other frontcourts are running on fumes compared to our talent. (Olshey did that by overspending, of course.)

Sorry, you have lost your place in line. You're now at the "beginner" fan stage. So before @HCP says it, shut up junior!

It's not realistic at all to expect any move to make this group of player a championship team. Year over year improvements to the quality for team is what we should aim for.
