I had to Google it. Arpaio sounded kinda native American to me. My gramma was married to a native American and all I remember is they called him Grampa joe. He was my aunts father.

86 is a little young and it seems his name is Italian from the quick search I did. Would have been awesome if it was him.

What an idiot. I thought for sure Trump would put him & Roy Moore on the Supreme Court when someone dies. Maybe he does not want to wait.

    Term ain't over yet.
Though I'd put about the same money on Arpaio surviving long enough to hear a Supreme Court case as I would on Scalia hearing another case.

I don't know if I ever asked you this, crandc (and open to the crowd, while hijacking the thread anyway)...did you think Hillary (if elected) would've placed Obama in the Gorsuch spot?

No. I very much doubt Obama would want that.

Placing Obama in the supreme court would make no sense. He's not even a judge

Quite a few Supreme Court justices were not judges.

    https://www.answers.com/Q/What_US_S..._judges_prior_to_being_appointed_to_the_Court

A total of 41 justices (10 Chief Justices and 31 Associate Justices) of the 112 seated (36.6%) had no judicial experience before joining the US Supreme Court.

The following list includes only US Supreme Court justices who were NEVER judges prior to being nominated to the US Supreme Court. The occupation listed is the last position held before nomination.

Please note that most justices held other, often multiple, positions in politics earlier in their careers. Many of the justices whose occupation at nomination is listed as "lawyer" had temporarily returned to private practice because the opposing party was in office and there were no government opportunities available to them until the administration changed.

Whether the messenger is a racist or not, the message is valid, and one that every other country in the world adheres to pertaining to immigrants, if they allow immigrants at all.

It is a fact that Mexico is a filthy, disease-ridden, hygiene-ignorant country, and that illegal aliens bring a myriad of dangerous communicable diseases which infect Real Americans.

Before migrant workers replaced happy, hard-working American children in our agricultural system, salmonella and e coli were practically unheard of here. Aids was brought to America by Haitians....
