i actually liked it, only because in a way i agree with him.
one of the biggest reasons dame hasnt been making the all star team is in fact because he plays in portland. not becuase of how many fan votes he gets but because of the performance of our team. The mediocre talent that hes surrounded and stuck with is the reason, not the amount of fan votes he gets.
its nice to see it getting national attention, even if our city got thrown under the bus.
and since we're on the topic of the fan base..my family has had season tickets my entire 30 years on this earth and this year is by far one of the most boring arena experiences ive seen. probably also because of the teams success but we do not bring it like we use to. just sayin

Here's the final fan voting for guards for the All Star Game:

Stephen A's take is particularly dumb because Dame being in a bigger market wouldn't put him ahead of Curry or Harden and those are the only two guard selections influenced by the fan vote.

I'm glad that he finished higher than Lonzo Ball, because that was an absolute disgrace. Manu finishing above him is ridiculous. Personally, I don't think Klay should make the game. He's a talent, certainly, but his game is boring and he is the 4th best player on the Warriors' roster. Westbrook and Paul are locks for the coaches' picks, so Dame would have to be the 5th guard. Butler's going to get consideration because of the T'Wolves' rise this year.

I think the Player Vote is the one that means the most to be honest. Interesting that they have Dame and Booker tied for 4th.

People still don't seem to understand that Dame is playing during a point guard renaissance. He's a very good player, but it's hard to stand out when there's Steph, Westbrook, Paul, Lowry, Irving, Kemba, Wall, etc etc etc. There are so many good point guards right now that it's simply a discussion of who likes who the best. So in the end, what's holding him back is his team's record, but the west is so stacked right now that (short of trading for another superstar) we're going to at best be 4th or 5th.

Same thing with the QB position in the NFL. Manning and Manning, Brady, Big Ben, Brees, Rodgers, Ryan... There's half a dozen guys that would typically be the best of their generation.

I don't think it's a coincidence that we're seeing the PG and QB positions hit unprecedented levels of excellence simultaneously. It's probably an indication of how much more structured the youth developmental systems have become.

Westbrook gets MVP and still doesn't get voted as starter. It happens.

Actually it kind of makes my point.... New Orleans is a bigger market than Portland and that's the only real difference other than position. If making the All-Star game is on Dame's to-do list Portland is not a great place to make that happen.

Or there's a lack of quality bigs in the league right now. I really don't think it would matter where Dame played, unless he was in the Eastern Conference.

Steven A Smith is like the toilet paper tail attached to a pair of pants. All he talks about is Shit. He is kind of like a cheap Spike Lee and Samuel L Jackson mix.
