The same fans that had Ball ahead of Dame for awhile this year and Zara almost a starter last?? And as far as Westbrook’s “padded” stats....... there are close to 450 players that aren’t and can’t put up numbers like we saw. And 29 other coaches who wish they had a player putting those up. Padded stats.....give me a fucking break.

If Dame was in LA on either team he would be an All-Star without question. stop.

You think he would get more votes than Curry or Harden? You think the coaches would vote him in if the Lakers were still a total shit show?

No, but there are more than two guard spots available. I think the Lakers with Dame have as much or more talent than the Blazers with Dame so they would only be a minor shit show. But yes, I do think that he would have about 2x as many votes and be a consistent all-star reserve.

As you probably know, the number of fan votes only matters for the starters. He'd only be a reserve if the coaches picked him. Maybe the higher profile in LA would help with that, but he'd still have to edge out Klay, Westbrook or CP3.

Fact is this, he has had better stats than Thompson for both of the last two years and Thompson has still beaten him. It's because of record. The Warriors have monopolized the All-Star spots for three years straight, and it's going to happen again this year. Realistically Dame should have gotten the nod over Thompson the past two years, but the coaches reward team record (which I still think is fucking absurd when it's a game of stars.)

Dame being on another team doesn't change the fact that Curry, Thompson, Harden, and Westbrook are probably going to make it, and then you have Chris Paul and Jimmy Butler who would also probably beat him out because of record.

Klay becomes much easier to leave off IMO. Dame is a star on and off the court. LA exposure and just being a topic of conversation around the league does more to help than stats more often than not. Cause statistically Dame puts up #1 guy numbers, all-star lock numbers even, but he doesn't get the shine that winning and/or big markets bring.

My point is that the bump that Klay gets from being on the best team in the NBA would be similar to the bump Dame would get from added exposure and coverage around the league. After that it's just up to the numbers, he has those in spades.

But the coaches decided, so that's irrelevant.

The same fans that can't see through Ginobili's age? Fans shouldn't get to vote.

Stephen A Smith has always annoyed me. These guys just say things for reactions. No different than skip bayless. It what they do to try and get views but the truth is both their shows suffer in viewership so they have to say dumb and crazy shit just to hope they get viewers.

By the way I think the Lonzo ball point was stupid. Before he was in the league dumb fans and laker fans overhyped him. He’s just a popular mediocre player, that’s it. Has nothing to do with markets, more so with how dumb your average nba fan is.
