Vonleh and our first for Oubre? (and one of their end of the bench guys to make the salaries work)

Napier is another guy they could be interested in, although I’m not sure they’d want to pay him. Then again from I’m reading nobody is really getting paid their actual worth this summer outside of the superstars.

I like the idea of Oubre, but honestly, if Washington is willing to part with one of their SF's for something that we could offer (and match salary), I think I'd actually prefer the guy who has already proven that he can be a legit third scorer alongside a dominant backcourt, regardless of how overpaid he may be.

Don’t see what a deal with OKC for Moe would look like

Yeah I just think that would be tougher just because I don’t think Washington would be interested in the contracts we would have to add to match.

I love Porter's game. He's the perfect glue guy-- great defender who can swing up or down positions. And he can shoot exceptionally well from range. But he's being paid like a max player, and I see his ceiling about where he is now 15/6/2 on great percentages.

That lineup, with Collins still on his rookie deal would be (conservatively estimating 15 mil per for Nurk) making 95 mil.

Wonder what it would take to get him. Moe+ Rouq+ Napier for Porter works money wise.

dude.....this is you not able to participate in debate....you start by saying the guy has the worst ideas on the board....then puff up your take....c'mon...talk about your ideas without talking down to folks and you'll have more success ...you actually have good ideas but you lead by insult....

That'd be worth it for me. And not unreasonable for them, IMO.

But we’d be adding about 5m to our books. Would Allen sign off on that? We’d probably be a tax team for the forseeable future.

Been trying to find something that makes sense. Abrines/Singler for Harkless/Vonleh works and saves us 2.7M this year, which almost gets us under the tax.

Now, if they're willing to give up prospects like Ferguson and Grant, then we could go Harkless/Aminu/Vonleh for Roberson/Abrines/Ferguson/Grant, and that would save us 3.7M this year, and restock our cupboard. Personally, I don't think that makes a lot of sense for them, but if they see that as a "shoot for the moon" type move (and honestly, it would give them a lot of defensive switchability), it could happen.

Having looked at their roster and contracts, nothing makes sense unless they package both Ferguson and Patterson together, which would maybe become slightly attractive for Portland.

Yes, we would be--but we would have a legit third scorer without having to part with Dame, CJ, Nurkic, or Collins. PA may well consider that worth the tax bill.

My problem with Porter is that once you have him, you have $80M locked in CJ, Dame and his deal and very little flexibility for a good few years. This is not a championship winning three for sure.

Yeah that abrines/singler package seems like a rip off, and the other one seems unlikely. If I were Olshey I would demand Ferguson to be included, but like you said, it wouldn’t make much sense for them.

    Please define ball dominant.

    Because:

    Magic
    Stockton
    Nash
    Payton
    Kidd
    KJ
    Porter

    I could go on....

All were ball dominant players and played best when they controlled the offense by having the ball all the time.

Idk, a lineup of Dame, CJ, Porter, Collins, and Nurkic is pretty damn good, and maybe as good as we can get.

If they think they need to focus on this year rather than the future, they might. They've lost 4 straight, and even though they're starting him, they're not playing Ferguson big minutes.

    I'm warming to the idea.

No it was Love not TT. Hell TT and the BKN pick wouldn't be worth Harkless the way TT is playing and is paid, okay TT isn't that worthless but he is damn close atm.

I understand him differently. No way he said Love+BKN pick isn't that good for CJ.

Is that lineup better than Wall/Beal/Oubre/Porter/Gortat?

I don't know anything about Oubre's defensive abilities, but I'd wager that Collins is superior in that regard. Looking forward, I'd expect Porter/Collins/Nurkic to be superior overall to Oubre/Porter/Gortat, but I get that it's questionable.
