NRA is a powerful lobbying association. I read this today and it somewhat applies to what you are discussing.

    http://www.wweek.com/news/2018/02/1...ills-17-oregon-house-passes-gun-control-bill/

Something to note, Knute Buehler is running for governor, and he is "heavily pressured" by the NRA, apparently.

Yes, I am aware it is a Willamette Week (liberal) article. I do not consider myself a liberal. Just gotta CYA, ya know.

I agree with you, that the NRA isn't soley the issue. I could argue that lobbying is, in a way, the issue for a lot of these injustices America experiences.

It’s not just the NRA. The majority of Americans believe in stricter gun laws, but that doesn’t engender much change because most of those Americans are far less vocal than the NRA types. Plus, those Americans may agree we need stricter laws, but good luck getting us to agree on which laws and how strict. I may want magazine restrictions and some loopholes closed while others may want an all out ban, and others just want psychologically challenged people banned. The NRA is a very powerful lobbying arm but that’s because they represent a large contingency that all (for the most part) agree that no restrictions is best. A focused group of people will usually win against an unfocused larger group.

The only way anything changes is if Republicans commit, as a group, to make changes. In other words, nothing will change. Keep in mind i have voted Republican up until Trump. As has been said repeatedly, if America would and could not change anything after Sandy Hook, there is no hope. Sadly.

If someone gives me over $3 million I'll vote any damn way they want.

But that's coming from a dog who will ban anyone for $50.

Interesting proposal by some teachers in So Cal on the TV tonight. Teachers want the option to be armed in school He said, while we take cover
waiting for the police to arrive, students get massacred. We can not just wait for the police to arrive.
I posted it as I remember it. I can find nothing in the media online. Just a ton of stuff about this idiot teacher in So Cal.
