CJ hit Aminu twice with nice looks last night. Not sure where you are getting this?

Olshey paid McCollum superstar money, but McCollum is no superstar as long as he shares the floor with Lillard. Once every 10 games, McCollum looks great. 9 out of 10 games, McCollum is no better than the average, cheaper, NBA starting SG.

We will never get out of financial hell with 2 guards making $25M/year each. There just won't be any new players. No change. Boring.

PG13 is only 27 this season. Seems like he's much older than that. I would make the trade, too.

Trading from a position (SG) that is deep across the league for an elite SF which is perhaps the least deep position in the league.

Our defense would get even better.

    PG13 can play SG, too.

I'm in no hurry to trade CJ, though. PG13 is that good.

George for CJ would make us much, much better, not even any doubt about that. That trade will not be available for us though.

Imagine getting into time machine and offering Indiana CJ for George. They would have probably taken that back then as CJ's stock was higher than Oladipo's (right now I think Oladipo is regarded as the better player).

Then use #10 to take Mitchell to replace CJ, and somehow find reason to go for Kuzma instead of Swanigan at #26.

Lillard - Mitchell - George - Kuzma - Nurkic gets us 55+ wins.

Appears you are a grass is always greener on the other side kind of guy. Got news for you, the grass is often the same or worse on the other side.

Well taking Mitchell at 10 would not have been outrageous at the time. Even Dame said a few weeks ago that he wanted him, I think. Of course the two teams that drafted just before Utah have more to regret because they both took shooting guards and neither of them look anywhere near as good. Collins was a good pick. I will keep moaning about not having Mitchell for a while, he is an absolute beast.

Kuzma we couldn't have predicted. If Olshey was as amazing at drafting as some on here think then he might have guessed how good he was going to be in the league but honestly, several teams before us also passed on him.

In terms of immediate impact we did mess up the 2017 draft though. It was clear from the beginning that Collins would not contribute much for a couple of years.

You would think that with how good we all think George is, adding him alongside the reigning MVP, the difference between OKC and the Blazers would be more than a 1/2 game at the all star game. Yes they got off to a slow start, but they are also 4-6 in their last 10. It's a conundrum.....

We need more talent. CJ is great, don’t talk bullshits. You are a CJ hater. CJ have great numbers for a star caliber SG and future all star. We need more guys (wing). Don’t need to trade CJ, and Neil already said they won’t. So it’s not even a idea.

I staked out this position early, so that 1 year from now, when half of you agree with me, you will be eating crow. Of course, you won't unless I remind you (see below). 2 years from now, when Olshey and McCollum depart, and everyone claims they were on board 2 years earlier, only I will remember.

In the last couple of months, people have finally started calling for a SF. I started this in the main FA thread of the week that Olshey got Davis, Aminu, etc. I kept saying that he had failed at his main thing...to get a dribbling, scoring SF to balance Lillard. Everyone told me I was full of it. A year later he tried with Turner. Glad to see you all finally come around.

Then there was 1 year into Meyers Leonard...and the first Summer League of Bayless, when his selfish drives had everyone stoked except me...in each case, everyone was shocked at my nonconformity. Suffice it to say, I'm the smartest one on the board.

I will say that CJ doesn't have great advanced stats, but that's in part due to his low FTR.

You need threats that can give the offense momentum. CJ has a knack for hitting timely, momentum shifting shots. He takes the pressure off Lillard. CJs on-off numbers aren't great because Dame can carry the offense for 12 minutes a game when CJs out, however, if you have Dame having to carry the offense by himself for 36 minutes a game and no threat for the 12 minutes that Dames out, not only would Dame break down and not be able to give forth the defensive effort he has this season, but the team would be easy to guard and we'd be much, much worse.

We need to add to our guys. I've advocated trading CJ in the past due to his deficiencies (he has some) and due to the belief that we don't have the ability or the right GM to add that SF to our core, but if we could, it definitely should be Plan A.

Hilarious this guy is trying to say he's the only one on this board clamoring for better forwards in the past.
That Aminu isn't consistent enough offensively and for him to be the best forward on the team... Meant Portland will always be inconsistent.

    Gimme a break.
    Just hilarious.

Pretty salty, cracker. I never talk to you. I see your name, but nothing you say ever registers as meaningful. What's up? Learning how to spell honky?

There's a difference between your mildly pining for better forwards, vs. my he-man bellowing that our offense will go nowhere without a top shooting, dribbling SF, and that until then, Olshey is a failure. After a couple years of repeating it, this season I started quantifying height as, like, 6 foot 6, which seems to have gained some imitators finally.

What this team needs is for me to abandon all shyness and just flat-out take over this board. Homer will be my lieutenant.
