You may have changed the topic on me...are you talking about "assault rifles" now or just a regular, 16-in-the-clip-and-one-in-the-hole WalMart special? I agree that it's harder to club 50 people than shoot them, but if you're saying eradicate all weapons then it's kind of a convo-stopper right there. If not, most of the "mass shootings" at schools are done with run-of-the-mill handguns. Not excusing it, but I feel like you can't have it both ways, either there are "way too many guns in population" (300M or so), or there aren't enough responsibly armed people to thwart a mass shooting. Probably not both. Thing is, the responsibly-armed shooter, by definition, isn't in a gun-free zone. Only irresponsibly armed shooters and law enforcement (unless the school has armed personnel), whenever they happen to show up. Which, on the order of minutes, doesn't matter if you have an uzi or a single-shot shotgun...people are going down. There may be something to that, but being outgunned (literally) is not generally the way to protect someone. It's a good way to end up dead yourself.

Dems can't confiscate guns if we don't have lots of innocent victims. So they legislated to make our schools targets, opened the border to re-start heroin and meth epidemics, race-baited the public to bring back our fading differences, and used Obamacare to destroy the economy and create unemployment. Sadly, that is exactly why we suddenly have all these school murders, which were comparatively rare before Obama was elected. His FBI has allowed several to happen (apparently on purpose). 228 school shootings (mostly single victim, known to killer) in the entire 20th century. 42 school shootings during the Bush terms. 145 school shootings during the Obama terms.
I just think it's way more fear than demonstrablity when it comes to being armed and thinking we're safer than unarmed here in the states...for gun enthusiasts, this will always be a dead conversation because they find security in weaponry...I felt safer without weaponry than I do with it actually when I compare the realities of life in a country with and without gun laws...people don't want to look at the problem with the possibilities that we just might not need the damned things one day ..the idea of armed militia goes back to when states really weren't sure they'd trust each other....all 13 of them at the time...America is armed to the teeth yet we are having mass shootings in public....you and I owning guns isn't stopping anything
you're really hung up on these left and right descriptions...even though they don't mean jack shit...talk to your fellow citizens as fellow citizens and stop with the Hatfield and McCoy partisan line in the sand...you might actually have an inclusive conversation if you can bridge that gap

You know I generally ignore your posts like I ignore maris... But this one is so hilarious I can't help but laugh at it. If you were to take a knife into a school and stab one person in the hallway... You might get to stab a couple others before you're either taken down by staff. Or everyone ends up safely out of your reach. Doesn't work that way with assault rifles. This post you made is one of the dumbest things I've read on this forum recently.
I don't want to give people ideas but it would be pretty easy to get a good number of people with a knife at school. 6 minutes would be tough though. Assault rifles are just easy as fuck because they can spray bullets.
