The e-golf is fun in its own right. Floor it and it's accelerates plenty fast and gets up to speed quicker than most. It's like an elevator taking off. Quiet - no engine sound. Never need to stand outside in the rain or cold/heat to pump gas. First year maintenance consisted of filling the tires with air.

The batteries are flat across the bottom, which gives it a low center of gravity and maxes out the interior space. The low center of gravity makes it hug the road even better than the GTI. It rides higher than the GTI, though.

The interior is a lot cheaper looking, but still nice. The A/C takes a lot longer to cool the inside in the e-golf than the GTI.

We might go Tesla when the lease is up, but I find nothing to complain about with the e-golf.

BTW, the new Tesla roadster does 0-60 in 1.9 seconds. While it blows the doors off most gas cars (Lotus, Ferarri, etc.), the gas cars end up doing better over longer distances. The roadster has a 620 mile range on one charge, too.

Did you have the left fender painted or was it the wrong color when you bought it?

You know I never noticed that. I messed with the picture. Threw some different filters on it, maybe that made it look off?

Most likely been painted. Could have even been painted at the original dealership that sold it. Silver is hard to match.

The only thing missing from the cars on your wish list is neon lighting on the bottom. You have more taste than this.

I heard it's range is the moon.

I would love to get a Tesla, just have very little chance of affording it.

The new Model S should cost you ~$30K after government support. A lease for that with $2K down might be ~$250/mo.

Not in everyone's price range, but still not only for the rich like many of the other Teslas are.

Broke down and got my wife this last week. Toyota Highlander Limited...... not happy about the car payment, but she loves it. Surprised her, didn’t see it coming. Delivered it to her work. Never spoiler her, so I should be good for awhile. Driving it on the beach in the sand yesterday and the snow today. It’s a great car.

And for you tree huggers, it has this green ECO light that comes on when you drive responsibly, trying to get it removed soon, ha!

That's a Model 3, not S - the S are more expensive. It will not happen before 2019 however, they are not planning on delivering any stripper model 3s anytime soon. The stuff they expect to deliver in the next year+ goes around $50K

Question for the E-Car people....... won’t those batteries always be here? I mean, never break down or go away? What is the situation or plan with those once the cars are off the road?
