Looking at the teams in the west fighting for the playoff spots here is the total number of games left against playoff level teams. Many are head to head in the west. TWolves- 12 games left against playoff level teams Spurs-16 Blazers- 16 Thunder- 14 Nuggets- 17 Pelicans- 16 Clippers- 18 Jazz-12 Teams that were included as playoff level are all teams currently in the playoffs and Detroit, LA Clippers and Utah.
Not sure this matters a ton. Portland won, but really struggled against a shitty Suns team. Just have to take care of business
Yep. Great win. My point, which, as usual I failed to communicate properly, is that games against playoff teams is a fun stat, but really, anyone can beat anyone in this league.
Yep. Think this goes for any team in any sport. They say “any given Sunday” in the NFL and that applies here too. Blazers, thanks to D Lill, was about to pull through. The best you can take from the experience is we can squeeze out the Win when it matters the most.(even though the Suns handed us the opportunity with their turnover.) The Blazers just have to continue taking care of business and not over look a single game .. especially with the scars from last night. We have the Kings next and then the Wolves. Kings barely lost against OKC and they can play when they get it going. We SHOULD get that win though. The Wolves will be the game we all are waiting for as it is a HUGE game regarding current seeding and they will be playing without Butler. I believe the only time we have beat the Timberwolves this year is when they didn’t have Jimmy Butler. So this was actually a blessing in disguise for our winning chances(though I hate to see any player go down) Take care of business and the rest takes care of itself.
Check this out--if you draw a line down the middle of the US, and check the Blazers' performance since 12/23 against that map, an amazing stat emerges: Games east of the line (@ATL, @CHI, @CLE, @HOU, @NOP, @MIN, @TOR, @BOS, @DET): Blazers are 1-8 Games west of the line (home games + @LAL, @OKC, @DEN, @DAL, @LAC, @SAC, @UTA, PHX): Blazers are 17-2 Don't know if it means anything, but it seems like it might mean something. BTW, the Blazers only have 3 more games this season east of the line.
