Best Podcast: Hardcore History with Dan Carlin Very Good Pods: This American Life, Uncivil, Radiolab, Stay Tuned with Preet, Trumpcast, The inside Winemaking Podcast, Waking up with Sam Harris, The Woj Pod, FiveThirtyEightPolitics
Not at all if you listen to good pods. No commercials, no censorship, much more originality. I can't stand AM talk but listen to Pods frequently.
I don't know about AM but I love KLCC FM on Sunday mornings...classical guitar...roots folk music...celtic and irish music ..then Click and Clack...the car guys from Boston do a call in show that's hilarious and I love....I understand one of the brothers died recently but I listened to their podcast whenever I got a chance....learned a lot about auto repair and troubleshooting auto problems..
This is fact. Other fun podcasts: The Adventure Zone* Total Party Kill* Critical Role* The Incomparable Roderick on the Line *nerdy real-play D&D podcasts... not for HCP.
None thanks. I’ll pollute my mind and distort my opinions through other methods......though the end result is usually the same.....
Ha! Yeah, I don't need any help either, just getting threw a few chore and projects on the boat, a little S2 does the trick.
I totally get this. However, I think both of you would really enjoy Hardcore History. They are extremely well done and in-depth. I love the WWI series and the series on the Mongols best. Dan Carlin (host) spends upwards of six months researching and producing each series. With the WWI pod there are 5 episodes each about 4 hours long. All series aren’t equal, but I haven’t found any duds either. They aren’t political but Dan does often try to find parallels between different historical events and often talks about motivations and conflicts in historical records. He was a jouranalist for decades but his hobby was history. Anyways, if you have a long drive or a voyage, download a series and give it a try.
Agreed, but I’m tired of how most of his guests are comedians and they end up just talking about being a comedian. But when he has a neuroscientist or Egyptologist, or some astrophysicist I love it. I now only listen to maybe 1/20 episodes.
My wife does a ton of Pod casts, History is her favorite. It doesn't work well for me listening to someone else present at their speed. I read quite fast, until my mind wants to take a moment to contemplate the presentation at hand. Reading, this is no problem, I can go as fast or slow as the subject will take me. If the Podcast is not all that interesting, way way too slow. If the Podcast is good it is usually still too slow most of the time, but when I take the scenic route, I get lost as to where to pick up when I stopped hearing the babble. Perhaps we need better tools to listen with, tuned to the user by the user.
I'm this way as well. My wife suggested podcasts and audiobooks for the drive, but it just doesn't fit my learning style.
My Dad Wrote A Porno ESPN 30 for 30 Heaven’s Gate Some fictional ones I have enjoyed Black Tapes Podcast, Tanis, Rabbits. Listening to In The Dark now
If he has funny comedians like Stanhope on it's okay, but a lot of the time they aren't that interesting. I don't have any interest in the MMA stuff/people either.
Wait a minute.....let me get this straight FAMS.....in your SPARE time, you listen to other people talk about Dungeons and Dragons? You sir on a WHOLE other level of NERDdom.
