    Me too.

When I get ready to go to sea for a few days, I cook up some chicken legs and Thighs. Turkey legs too.

Boiled to get the fat off and skin loose so I can throw it away. Don't want any fat to churn around in tummy.
So, with this stash in the fridge, ready to travel and not too much galley duty needed at sea.

Of course If I had a cook! Life would be different. Except Cooks get sick too. So prior proper planning works best.

    Just a thought.
You get tagged with it, because you take offense. They tried doing the same to us Irish and Scots too
with Potatoes, Beer, Whiskey. It didn't work, No one gave a shit.

I disagree. Chicken is cheap. That's why we eat it. It's also why there aren't many black golfers.

You can buy a basketball for $18.

Oh yeah! I am going to the store soon here, dang near out of too much stuff. Going to get a beef steak for dinner, probably near to a month since the last.
I just know that sucker will give me heart burn. I sure wish I could just eat the smell.

uh yes! It is cheap and good too!

But now, dang it! We just had a failure to communicate!

I was not speaking about why you eat chicken. I was speaking about why you get tagged as a group for being chicken eaters!

Because you take offense! Perhaps, just a thought.

No offense, the tag falls off. Perhaps, just a thought.

You bring up economics of sports..golf can be expensive or not. When my nephew was playing basketball, he started off in second or third grade..had to pay to play special leagues up through JR High..Then he went to private school, two pay to play leagues....combine that with all the travel and time..I have to think golf would be a lot less money.

Now, I know the first thing I am going to see is how "privileged" his experience was...but compared to almost every guy that plays collage or pro ball, it is very typical.

    Fried chicken
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    ...

    Racial stereotype

In the United States, fried chicken has stereotypically been associated with African-Americans.[76] The reasons for this are various. Chicken dishes were popular among slaves before the Civil War, as chickens were generally the only animals slaves were allowed to raise on their own.[77] Minstrel shows and the film The Birth of a Nation led to a prevalent stereotype associating African-Americans with fried chicken.[78]

On two occasions the golfer Tiger Woods has been the target of remarks regarding fried chicken.[79] The first occurred in 1997 when golfer Fuzzy Zoeller said that Woods should avoid choosing fried chicken for the Masters champions' dinner the following year;[80] the second when golfer Sergio García was asked in a press conference in 2013 whether he would invite Woods to dinner during the U.S. Open to settle their ongoing feud. García, a Spaniard who was unaware of the existence of this stereotype in American society, committed a gaffe saying: "We will have him round every night . . . We will serve fried chicken", which Woods said was "wrong, hurtful and clearly inappropriate".[80] Both Zoeller and García subsequently apologized to Woods.[80]

In 2009, a KFC in Beijing renamed their restaurant to "Obama Fried Chicken" in reference to recently inaugurated President Barack Obama.[81] Despite controversy at the time, the owner refused to change the name back, and the restaurant continues to operate under this name.[77]

Eat the smell! That actually made me laugh out loud.

I can think of other thing that would be better if you could get away with that.

I started playing with hand me down clubs. They were hot for the time, some Hogan 440s I think. Started playing Parr Threes to learn the short game. Learned to play long irons on cheep public courses.

Did not get Big Headed stuff for a long time..Got my Fathers hand me down Pings, when he got his Ping 2s . purchased used woods, used the company membership to GCO.\

The most money I spent was on beer, the first ten years I played, I had no idea you could do it with out a toddy or twenty
