Say we only paid ET $10 million. Who could we have gotten to make us better?

With $7 mill per? Nobody that moves the needle.

He makes us better. It's a very lucrative contract but it's not hurting the team.

This, thank you. I love having a bad boy on the team. Not a dick. And there's a big difference.

And yeah.....fuck tripping dogs. They smile at you with that smart ass look with their tongues hanging out while you're doing somersaults down a flight of concrete stairs.

If nothing else, Turner making $7M less would have prevented the team from having to deal Vonleh this season to get under the tax line.

This summer, Turner making $7M less would probably allow the team to keep someone they'll likely have to let leave (Davis, Shabazz).

It's not all just about bringing other guys in; it's also about keeping guys who are already here.

It's up to the players if Davis and Shabazz are on the team next season. If this team makes the WCF I'm positive Paul Allen will go over the cap to keep them.

Let's beat a full, healthy 60+ win team before we talk about the WCF. One thing at a time.

Come on, Denny. I don't expect this type of tomfoolery from you.

If we didn't have him, we'd have many more options last offseason
and at the deadline. This flexibility could easily translate into a
player that could more than reproduce his production....

We wouldn't need a "great locker room guy" if he didn't suck so
bad last year, and we had more wins.

Don't get me wrong, I like Turner and he has his moments, but....
    1) The "I earned my bread" thing is just stupid.
    2) He's worse than a replacement player.
    3) At the end of the day, it's clear that our team's biggest weakness is SF - his position.
It's not a big problem if Harkless is playing well - he hasn't been. We're (s2ers)
still hopeful Hark will improve, while at the same time scanning the known
universe (draft/FAs/released players...) for a replacement SF. The reason?
Turner is mediocre and NO ONE thinks he's going to improve his shot,
    dribbling, or get better.

Finally, here's the thing. Turner could defuse this hate with some common
sense, but he went the other way: "I work hard in the gym, studying film,
and in the locker room. I was an FA at one of the best times to be an
FA. Not everyone is so lucky, I understand that, but I don't apologize
    for that, either. Go Blazers!"

There aren't any 60 win teams in the league at the moment. The only two teams that are likely to hit that level are the Warriors and the Rockets. The Blazers beat a fully healthy Warriors team on Valentines Day.

ET needs an overprotective wife that blocks people on social media who makes negative comments about him.

My apologies....I should have said "Contender". Let's beat Boston, Cleveland (they'll find a way to make it), Toronto, GS, and Houston CONSISTENTLY before we talk about the WCF.

Don't get me wrong....I like the positivity, but let's just keep things in perspective and not go all "Kingspeed" on here. We're 12 games behind GS for a reason.

Sounds like a job for Meyers.

If we make it through the end of the season in the third seed. Then we can make it to the WCF.

Having a vet like ET in the locker room could be helping someone like Mo etc. We need more than just Dame in their ear giving them support.

Well, the Blazers have the Cavs on Thursday, Houston on Mar. 20th and Boston on Mar. 23rd. By all means, let's beat them. Consistently.

Knowing how things can take on a life of their own in this forum I don’t want to open a can of worms but......one of the first lessons I learned in the workaday world is that you don’t worry about another person’s paycheck. You worry about your own. We all have a less than objective idea of what our efforts might be worth and you just try to go out and make yourself as valuable as you can. I am a retired public employee (I say that knowing full well I just put a target on my back). My fellow citizens (in general....and including friends and relatives) seem to have a problem with public employee retirees. We’ve taken a good deal of grief and have been made to feel as if we were cheating the rest of society. It seems like all we ever hear anymore (Kinda like ET). But having spent 35 years in a less than desireable job, working shitty schedules for low wages I’ve grown quite calloused. We performed a job that HAD to be done for the benefit of the community. I didn’t lobby or negotiate for my retirement package. It was given to me in lieu of pay raises and my only choice was to accept it. The people running the organization gave it to me voluntarily with no input on my part. Again, kinda like ET and his contract. I get EXACTLY where ET is coming from. FUCK those who don’t like what I’m paid. I earned it (and then some) and it’s no one else’s business. It doesn’t matter whether “Joe Citizen” is technically paying ET’s (or my) wages. We played by the rules of the professions we joined and there’s really nothing else to be said. Haters are gonna hate. God bless ET for figuring that out and moving forward. Anybody who doesn’t like it needs to get over it......

ET is a quality dude. Always a smile on his face regardless of the situation. I love his attitude, swag he brings to the team. Don't know what the article said, but he is a good dude.

I wonder if the guy who ET told to fuck off is the same one who crashed his truck in ET's pool?

He's been pretty good in that streak, a 106/106 O/DRtg, an average Game Score of 4.5 (not amazing, but not a liability). I'm not Paul Allen's financial advisor so I don't care about the cost. If he's a net positive on the court, then great.
