It's the same problem that we're having now. It doesn't address anything.

One) People will legally buy bullets and then use those bullets to hurt people because they don't care if they're caught/killed.

Two) People will steal bullets from people who legally bought them (like their parents, or friends, or anyone they know has a gun.)

Three) People will illegally manufacture untraceable bullets for the black market. They're not complicated to make.

Even then it might not do much good. As Marzy said earlier, there are currently a lot of people loading their own ammo.

Dude, just stop before you dig a huge hole. Several of us know Lanny personally and what he's like. Give it a rest.

The way I see it, there are three things that would actually enact some change in school shootings:

    1) We need to completely overhaul our education system and implement measures to identify children who are exhibiting certain behavior that raises red flags, and then try to get those children the help they need. This could include taking the children someplace where they can get psychiatric help, or it might be as simple as trying to get them a support system with people who are willing to be their friends.

    2) Assess the effects of prescription drugs like Ritalin and what impact they're having on these kids.

    3) Invest more money into supporting people with mental illness. Right now we basically just ignore mental illness. My brother in law is schizophrenic and bi polar. He has been in and out of trouble with the law pretty much since I met my wife. He has been arrested no less than five or six times in a span of 10 years. He has been on probation three or four times as a result of those arrests. He has spent maybe a couple months in jail. His parents have tried everything they can to get him help. They have tried to get him into specialized programs. They have tried to get him committed to hospitals. They have tried all kinds of medications. He's dangerous. He lashes out. He has a severe drug problem from self medicating. He steals. He has assaulted his father many times. Most recently he was convicted of punching someone in a parking lot while he was having a drugged up episode. Eventually he's going to actually really hurt someone. They don't know what to do. The authorities don't care and nobody wants him until he commits a serious crime. He has tried to kill himself 3 or 4 times. A few times he was taken to the hospital and released that same night. When he's on his medication, he realizes how shitty his life is and he goes on a bender and takes meth. When he's off his meds he's severely mentally ill. What do we do with this person? Right now we just ignore them until something finally goes horribly wrong. This needs to change.

Not true. Most people just reuse their casings. Or they buy used casings from friends.

Nothing short of a new Amendment has any legal power in light of The Second Amendment.

Any and all state and locals laws that INFRINGE the people's right to bear arms in any way, no matter how minute, are UnConstitutional.

Sid he was clueless on a subject. That's not an insult. An insult is: you are an overly sensitive bitch. Go chase truck tires in the highway.

I agree with a lot of your take here but if he's your family....wouldn't the "we" be your in laws? Intervention? Sounds like this should be addressed at home...I wouldn't blame the school system for dysfuntion or mental illness...you know what parents can be like if a teacher raises a flag about them even at a parent teacher conference? Schools have counselors for this purpose...teachers don't have all these options or enough information about the kid's home to be their psychologist in most cases

Most people who shoot much save their brass, as those who don't reload their own know someone who will do it for them is needed. Lead is available everywhere.

Black powder is the only regulated ingredient, and it can be obtained in a variety of ways.

Can I use this as a "Mod-approved" insult next time I disagree with a poster's clueless post?

Seems like you've been triggered by something or other. :dunno:

I'm not triggered by anything. I was quoting the personal insult part of what he posted. Those are his words, not mine.

And no, please don't insult people on here.
