On its web site, St. Mary’s County Public Schools wrote, “There has been a shooting at Great Mills High School.” They also said “the school is on lock down and the event is contained.” When asked if anyone was hurt or if anyone was in custody, Yingling said, “we have no idea at this point.”

I am grateful that the armed resource officer at this school was willing to intervene immediately and able to neutralize the threat. I hope the two injured students recover.

Fortunately many of these shooters end up taking their own lives if the police don't do it for them. Trump saying these shooters are cowards and thinking that no gun zones invite these kinds of actions is so far off base. I would venture a guess the majority if not all going in know they will likely be killed and best case scenario for the shooter will get arrested and possibly face the death sentence.
