Since the ASG, Jusuf Nurkic has been doing much better, making his early awkward play a distant memory; but it doesn’t feel like Nurk Fever from last year... but maybe it should, because he’s now playing better than last year. It’s just less visible. 2016-17 splits (“Nurk Fever”) 2017-18 splits While he’s not better in every category (*cough* FT% *cough*), his +/- has nearly doubled, and he’s averaging comparable stats in fewer minutes. Some might say we need to play him more but he’s playing to his current exhaustion limit right now; he’s gassed every time he goes to the bench. Nurk Fever mkII is quiet but it’s here. And this time he’s healthy.
I think the reason for some of his higher numbers and lower numbers are because he's playing more efficiently than he was pre-ASG. I think perhaps this guy that they picked up, this former head of officiating, also has a lot to do with this as well. Since we've hired him, our fouls seem like they've gone down, and our Defense is top 5. I think that guy, whatever his name is, is going to end up being a seriously underrated hire for this organization.
I think nurk fever was a response to finally seeing and having a legit big man on this team. He has been playing really well for a while, hope he can stay consistent. I have noticed not a lot of those easy layups he was finessing and missing
Dude wrong emoticon when referencing falloutboy! Wait.... We dont have a thumbs up emoticon??? This is unacceptable. Im leaving the forum!!!!!! Oh wait....Maybe not..... I think I found it..... Damn....
Pretty hard not to like 15/10 in 26 MPG on .571 FG% with elite defense. The soft, sloppy Nurk we saw early in the season has pretty much disappeared. His BLKs are up (from 1.25 to 1.67 per game) and his TOVs are down (from 2.42 to 2.09 per game). BNM
Yep. Dame's our best player and engine that drives the whole attack but we'll only go as far as Nurk takes us. He's our X factor.
