I saw them shoot him with bullets. I didnt see bean bag guns. And yeah he was on the other side of the room and I did not see him lunge at all. Taze him. I dindnt even see him holding a weapon. They just starting shooting.
Crazy to judge without getting a clear picture of who was near him. Can't tell the whole story from the video. He could have been 2 feet away from someone we can't see.
Well TV coverage of the incident says the police shot the guy several time with bean bags! Before shooting the real thing. But damned if I can tell what from that video anymore than the one shown here. I think the guy would not put the knife down and that probably did him in.
Looks like the bean bags were at the beginning when the cops were in the doorway. I don't think they even hit him with the bean bags. Didn't see a knife.
Who knows. Maybe he was an imminent threat. But the reason this is even a discussion is because we know that cops do in fact shoot or kill when they don’t need to.
Sometimes yes, they have done this and that's completely wrong. However I am not sure on this one. I think the general public think cops are supposed to be this special kind of human because they have that job. They aren't. They are like everybody else. Imagine being put in that situation, adrenaline and all. I don't know what the fuck was going on in that video but the guy was acting weird. I mean it's not difficult to just come out hands up, get on the ground. You have to abide, you can't just walk around and act sketchy with guns pointed at you. They also had received reports that this guy was armed. So imagine going into this, this guy is walking around all weird, and he might be armed according to reports. So people wanted these cops who have families at home to get close enough to a guy who is acting weird and may or may not be armed to tazer him? that doesn't make sense. I see the cops side more so than the idea than this man got executed. I have seen videos of actual shit cops basically executing a guy and it looked nothing like this. I wish it didn't go down the way it did in the video but what can you do? police don't fuck around these days and I honestly can't blame them
In this case yes, i don’t know. Impossible to tell from video. I just think people have this discussion so often now because some shitty cops out there on video (and not on video) are way too trigger happy so now everything is scrutinized. Rightfully so.
I tend to think a lot of the people who highly criticize cops don't think from the cops position. Now when it's an obvious case then I understand but this one is tough.
C'mon...Does police central issue orders for a squad of police officers to waste a homeless guy? A German Shepard would be enough to "subdue" him!!! That is ridiculous.
I hear that mental illness was involved. This changes everything. I've seen how they are unmoved by mental illness. Yep, they can be bastards.
....The trained dog sees no illness. What do they pay K-9 cops for when situations like this require them?
