Silly take there. Dame will cook Clark, and Portland has great success with 3-guard lineups, and New Orleans roster will let Portland be able to play 3 guards whenever. Wedge Baldwin should get some time. New Orleans small lineup and weak options at SF allows us to hide CJ McCollum.

definitely planning on having some fun. after watching some of the games today, I still think this will be the most entertaining series in the first round along with UTA/OKC.

on tigerdroppings you can start a new thread by clicking 'start topic' on the top left corner of the page. if you want to simply reply in a thread, there is a 'reply' button at the bottom of each post just like here. but to do that you need to create an account first. that might be the issue youre dealing with

Why is this Pelicans fan a more respectable poster than 90% of the people from O-Live?

This post reminds me of something I have thought for a while. Team owners should be able to move the license, but not the team name, or records; they should stay with the city.

thought id drop in to mention that did say the Pels played a lot a 3-guard lineups and would try to get Turner to take around 15 shots...

I could ask the question, why are so many S2 forum members so against posters from OLive and consistently rude to them? A large number of posters came from OLive at one time or another as it was around a lot longer than this forum has been around. You do realize this isn't some exclusive club don't you?

You don't control how many shots Turner takes. We had a lot of other guys with great, wide open looks that they couldn't finish. Turner forced some things. Once Harkless is back Turner won't even start.

Probably because we’re well aware (via our own experiences) that anyone who has spent even minimal time in the cesspit known as “OLive” could not have come away without severe mental and/or emotional scarring.......too, it’s difficult to trust the judgement....and sanity...of anyone who chose to stay there for any “real” length of time. As bad as it gets here, OLive was/is one of the inner rings of hell......

I had been on O-Live from the very beginning. I don't remember the exact date the forums were opened but it had been at least 17 years. Back then places like S2 and Blazersedge didn't exist so that was the best place to go to talk some Blazers on the internet. There were definitely times where I almost left or would take breaks because of all the crap that goes on there but just like on here you have people that you have spent years chatting Blazers with and I don't get why it's a bad thing to keep going back to chat with guys like @CupWizier, @tykendo, @Hoopguru, @kjironman1, @Lanny, and @Propagandist (sorry to those I left out). Attitudes that suggest that anyone from O-Live must be a certain way is why I personally shied away from posting in here prior to the purge. It's hard to get started in a forum that is already established and has it's quirks that you have to learn. Correct me if I'm wrong but has there been anyone from the recent O-Live migration that has been a big problem for S2?

I posted at O-Live back in 1999-2000. Then I was asked to write a column for O-Live which I did for 5 years. They paid me the first 3 years. When they couldn't pay me anymore, I stayed on for two more years just for the experience.

No we can't, but when we leave him wide open or put 6'1" Rajon Rondo on him, it's hard for a competitor to pass up a shot or for you guys not to try to exploit that. The other guys with great looks are irrelevant to the point I was trying to make. The Pelicans put a spotlight on Evan Turner. I said it before the game.

Plus I mentioned earlier in this thread that Harkless being out is a big deal for this series simply because we don't defend the SF position well, but Turner starting gave the Pelicans an opportunity to exploit

First, let me say that my response was mostly tongue in cheek because I felt the post I was responding to was inaccurate and rather insecure. I (and I think most everyone else here) welcomes the new folks with open arms. You guys bring some great perspectives and I for one genuinely appreciate that. Second, this can be a tough crowd, but not as tough as OLive (based on my own experience) and I’m honestly surprised that @CupWizier got his feelings hurt. He has shown that he too on occasion (like too many of us) can be rude and condescending. So calling the rest of us out pissed me (personally) off. The back and forth is the nature of the beast. So....I guess I need to apologize for painting the entire group with one brush. It was no more fair than what was originally posted. I probably should have used green font. My bad.

I don't know why people are bitching about Turner. Not only was he the only guy who could score in the first half but he made two HUGE plays during our run at the end of the game. He had a big block, I believe he blocked Davis at the rim. Then he rebounded Nurkic's miss and made a crazy shot from behind the backboard to score two points. Turner was not the problem. At all. And it's not like Turner prevented CJ and Dame from scoring. CJ took 19 shots, Dame took 23 shots.

thats why a better scorer at SF for yall like Harkless wouldve been a huge for yall last night. Turner had a lot of good looks due to the matchup & gameplan, decided to welcome the opportunity, and actually played pretty well at least up to his standards. Which unfortunately for you guys, is still an average Harkless game

You think you know our team when you really don't. The difference between Turner's and Harkless' performances when put in similar situations was more-so the decision on whether to cut/dive or spot up in the corner. Stotts has empowered Turner too much as a shooter. If Turner dives from the corner (which is something that Harkless likes to do), he likely would've been as effective as Harkless. Hell, I could score in that situation. It'd be an open layup, since AD is on the perimeter doubling Dame and the helpside guy has already committed to a rolling Nurkic or Davis. Harkless is obviously the better player but you guys didn't play the right kind of defense. We just didn't make the right decisions to take advantage.
