In that case I should've put a "get rid of everything/everything" option.

This makes no sense. Why fire Terry without a good replacement? Why trade CJ if there's no good deal? The third option in those two categories should be the only option.

Lol. Some people want Terry and CJ gone regardless. Some only want them gone for 1 or 2 specific replacements. There's a difference.

    1, fire Neil.

    2, fire Terry.

    3, hire Billups.

4, have Billups hire Jay Wright.

5, trade CJ to CLE for Hill, Osman, and BKN pick.

6, trade OUR first round pick+ET & Biggie to ORL for Fournier.

    7, draft Mikal Bridges.

    8, re-sign Ed.

Would suck to have to pay Hill so much but he’s a defensive minded vet at least.

I like Stotts. But it's time for a change. I'm betting a lot of good coaches would like to lead our core.

I feel like that option is so completely unrealistic that anyone who says or would vote for that aren't very logical. I seriously roll my eyes every time I see that.

I really like Billups, Wright, and Bridges. Don't trade for Fournier though. He's trash defensively.

    Maybe:
    - Hire Billups and Wright
    - Trade CJ, Harkless to New York for 9th Pick, 2020 1st, (Top 5 Protected) & Courtney Lee (Works cap wise assuming Baker, O'Quinn and Kanter opt out)
    - Draft Mikal Bridges, Chandler Hutchison
    - Trade Evan Turner, Meyers Leonard, Caleb Swanigan, 2019 1st to CHI for Omer Asik
    - Sign Tyreke Evans 2 years, $35M (Team Option)
    - Resign Nurkic and Davis (using cap space MLE after being renounced)

Would like to find a better backup PG. Could use ours and NYKs 2020 1sts

    Lillard / Baldwin
    Evans / Lee
    Bridges / Hutchison
    Collins / Aminu
    Nurkic / Davis

So would I, but it’s hard to find a team with a good pick who needs a CJ.

    Maybe NYK? Hardaway JR+pick?

How many times has the Home Court team been swept in a series? Is this a first?

I remember the stat being a 3rd seed hadn't been swept since 1978.

    I see I am not alone in the A B C group. Hello @honkicracker

I wonder if Neil is begging to get out himself. Seems like he hasn't been able to make a lot of the moves he's wanted to, for whatever reason.

Flipping off Blake was a very bad look from a GM. Maybe Neil has jumped the shark here in Portland.

You've got to admit though (and don't forget scouting doesn't fall solely on NO's shoulders. Shout out to the names out there putting in work, the ones you don't read about) we have drafted fairly well in Neil's Tenure. Good together or not, you can't deny how talented both Dame and CJ are individually. Collins has shocked me, he's really the bright spot of the season, and I think he has to start at 4 next season.

It's the trades that have looked bad. At much of that is in hindsight. Sure, the ET and Meyers contracts are glaring, but who knows how we look if Wes stays healthy and Afflalo comes in to be the bench guy we wanted him to be.

We hit some good talent when we blew it up after LA left. It's that push it over the top part that hasn't panned out.

I'm really on the fence, because I think it's possible he could turn what he's learned from this experiment into success. But if he's not about it anymore then I think the wheels will fall off and we will be in a much longer rebuild than otherwise.

It's ultimately a very touchy time as far as the future of the franchise goes. If it's a game of chess then you are thinking - move the wrong piece and its checkmate, but if you make the right moves...

Is a brand new GM our best bet at doing that properly? Shit man, that's a decision I'm glad I don't have to make.

    On Stotts

It's not as much on his shoulders as some make it out to be. The problem is, I think some of our guys have out grown him. Like they've learned the lesson and there's nothing more they are getting out of the class. Just "do this better, do that better" instead of "do this instead, do that instead".

He's a good coach, and has taken our team further than many coaches would have in his position. However, I think we are at a new stage, and we need the right fit to push us into the next level. I'm just not sure that Stotts is that fit.

That is why I would only fire Stotts if there is a great replacement.

@Fonzthecpt1 my only major issue with Stotts this year was how he game planned for this series against the Pelicans.
Time outs, substitutions, rotations. Don't really bother me.
His player development is excellent though.
Imagine if Nate was the coach for Collins... Would Collins have even got in the game this year?

I say 9, their 2020 pick, and Lee for CJ.

I think the answer to your question is strictly based on what input Allen has had with Olshey. If he has told Olshey at the last two trade deadlines (keep in mind this team was underachieving at those points both years) to stay under the tax line then I can't really see him then firing Olshey for not adding enough talent. I've maintained my position since the Dame/Allen meeting after Allen said he was worried Dame would want out that Allen agreed that he would be willing to pay the tax starting next season but that the team wasn't in a good enough position to do so at that time this season.

I don't think Olshey wants out. If he does good riddens to him because I can't stand people who's job it is to build something when they bounce after the going gets tough. Until I see proof of that I am going to assume that Olshey is happy here and likes working for Allen. Therefore we will see what happens this summer. If the Blazers go deep into the tax with re-signing free agents, using the tax-MLE, and using the Trade Exceptions then we'll be able to tell that the last two years have been calculated.

I really don't see Allen being okay with a 76ers style approach. The only reason he is okay with it this year with the Seahawks is because they won him a title and he seems to care about football less than basketball plus there was a lot of political stuff with that team as well.
