I wouldn't trade for him or Leonard. Whiteside had attitude issues prior to his new contract and now his team benches for most of the playoffs so that tells me that he isn't all in. Leonard doesn't even want to play for SA so why would want a guy that is in no hurry to help his team? I want guys with talent, but also guys that want to play. I give Lillard all the credit in the world for that. He is a gamer.

Not quite sure where the NBA is going here. I would like to wait and answer this after the playoffs. I always loved the idea of a power lineup of Nurkic and Collins, but am starting to wonder if maybe we should go with the more mobile Collins at the five and keep long athletic players at the forward spots. If we are battling GS, HOU or NO in the future, neither Nurkic nor Whiteside would have anyone to guard.

No. I think the fact that he wasn't played much at all in the playoffs is a huge red flag.

Understood, but that ignores the fundamental tenet of Buy Low, Sell High. So, without knowing more I'm not swayed. However, it does make me want to learn more about why he hasn't played (other than FT%).

Not a chance. A few months ago I would have liked this trade but he has been abysmal recently and looks completely shot. He also seems to have serious attitude issues.

Unless it’s a trade for Evan Turner or swish3 Meyers who are equally useless I wouldn’t do that for sure.

Yeah I like Collins as a center. I think NBA is moving towards the style of play where your center is either a defensive juggernaut whose only finishes around the rim are dunks (Capela, Gobert) or an all around player who can do it all on both ends of the floor. That’s of course unless you have somebody like Embiid who is just amazing at every single thing.

Miami prefers the cheaper Olynyk. Olshey made Whiteside the big offer, but could have gotten Olynyk much more cheaply. I don't blame Whiteside for his disappointment over not playing and earning his new contract. It shows a work ethic.

That's not bad. We'd have more talent than now, and it might be the best Miami can do. Most GMs would then trade one of our two centers, but Olshey doesn't have the talent to make trades, so we'd have too much money at the center position.

While the league goes small with passing, we go big and iso.

It's so crazy, it just might work.

But, we didn't really try small. It would have been interesting to bench Nurkic and start Collins or Davis with Harkless and Aminu at the forward spots. The second unit with Davis and Collins had some success against NO.

Olynyk is better than him. If possible, get Olynyk.
