and yet "stats"-evaluation is precisely how board members (including me) decide whether we want to trade for a player.

Which is the reason some argue Aminu can't play SF. He's a small ball backup PF who is only effective on offense if he's unguarded and camped in the corner. Trade him.

I've stood next to him and he appeared to be 6' 3" to me.

Hopefully we use a larger sample size of stat evaluation than 4 games. When it comes to wanting to trade players or for players.

Pretty much exactly my height when I was 18. Dame, leave the new baby and come party in Vegas (not with me) then we can meet and stand barefoot back to back and settle this matter.

Does anyone know if trades can happen now? Or do you have to wait til after season ends?

Any team that is out of the playoffs can technically trade again but it's usually a pretty common practice to wait until around the end of the Finals. However I think there was a big trade last year or the year before while the playoffs were still going so it can happen.

If we are 100% committing to try to win in Dame era, I propose CJ, Collins, and this years 1st for Kawai... then resign Nurk and Ed... i don’t think many teams, if any, could beat that package

One important note: The luxury tax day has already passed so any trades made between now and June 30th only affect next year's tax number not this year but for contract purposes all deals use this year's salary. You can't trade anyone who is a free agent or who has a player option that hasn't officially been picked up yet.

Baldwin can't be traded until 6/12

PapaG can't be traded until 6/18

Nurk, Napier, Connaughton, and Davis are not eligible to be traded.

All others have no restrictions other than normal trade rules.

An important note is that Baldwin, PapaG, and Layman could all be packaged together after 6/18 and whatever team acquired them could then waive them as an immediate salary dump. It's only about $4.6 million in total salary and I don't want to see Baldwin go but they could package those three with say Leonard and then trade for someone making around $17 million as a way for that other team to dump salary. A guy like Luol Deng for example who the Lakers may have to use the stretch provision on could be traded for that package and the Lakers could waive the 3 non-guarantees and gain an extra $7 million in free agency this summer. We'd have to take on more salary but we'd likely gain a good future pick or two for doing so.

So they'd win a title next year? That is the one and only year you'd have a chance to win because Kawhi would be gone after one year and you'd have lost your pick and young big plus you wouldn't have gotten anything for CJ. Gee that sounds awesome.

Dame will be 28 next season... status quo will not make you a contender, no matter who you sign for mid level exception. Kawai is a former finals MVP... you take a shot with him for 1 year... if it works, Kawai will resign garuanteed... if not then you look to full rebuild. It’s time for Neil to take a gameble after 6 years playing it safe... it’s now or never IMO. You don’t want to wait to long to trade CJ or is value will start to decline

I dont agree with everything per say, but I would say I think CJ's stock has already leveled off, if not regressed a tad since the start of the season.

He'll re-sign guaranteed???? He'd be leaving the fucking Spurs, a team he actually won a title with and that actually could've been a contender if he was healthy. His camp wants out of SA for a big market. Why would he then re-sign with Portland?

I'm open to trading CJ but I think you build for the future not for one year when you don't even know if Kawhi would play. Trading him, Collins, and our draft pick would lead to an even longer rebuild.

Neil at next press conference: “Look, 6 years ago we weren’t even expected to make the playoffs... we got swept by a Pelicans team that beat the Warriors by 20 in game 3.

Yawn, here you are again making crap up to fuel your every day hate of Olshey. Don't you ever get tired of posting basically the same thing over and over again? We know you hate Olshey. We know you want him fired but when is enough enough? It makes you look very limited in your knowledge of the game. Be creative and venture beyond your hate for Olshey.
