When I first moved there in 2004, I was surprised to see that even at grocery stores, there were spots for slot machines. Even more disturbing - people were smoking while playing the slots....in the grocery store.....
I am always a bit befuddled at how little success in the regular season results in a guy not showing up for summer league. Shabazz had plenty to prove but didn't show last season.
I remember the days when people would come over to my desk at Tektronix with a burning cigarette hanging loosely from their lips. Sometimes ashes would fall on my paperwork. Also, when you'd go in some taverns or bars the smoke would be so thick that you'd think you could cut it with a knife. I still get pissed when people stand by the large air intake of a commercial building while smoking a cigarette. When inside that building you could smell cigarette smoke but have no idea where it was coming from. Hey, try this. Try going outside on the third floor at the Rose Garden where there is an area set aside for smokers. A person could choke to death out there.
Do we know fo sho who's going? Baldwin? Definitely Biggie and Collins, right? I want Biggie to keep getting smallie-er. What's holding him back is lack of footspeed. Maybe he'll never have it, but Draymond Green sure as hell managed to improve.
Whoa, I'm a septuagenarian and I don't smoke. My wife is a septuagenarian and she doesn't smoke. None of our friends smoke. However, I see your point.
With our two picks and the likelihood of Biggie and Zach playing our Summer League team should be in the hunt for the title!
There are lots of teams with good young players. I don't expect anything from ours. However, I am looking forward to seeing a lineup of Baldwin/Simons/Trent/Swanigan/Collins playing together.
I expect the team to be very competitive. On paper they look like a balanced team. We made it to the championship last summer and I think they can do the same this year.
I wonder if biggie will show some of the same improvement in the pro's that he showed in his second year of college.
