So what do you think Turner meant by “Only in America”?? The country that made him rich beyond his wildest dreams? The country that has given more people more opportunity than any other country in the world? The country that more people are trying to enter than any other place on earth? His statement was clearly a subtle dig at the U.S., which he thinks is a place where injustice occurs on a regular basis, including in its presidential elections. And I think that’s absurd.

 

I was born after 1945. Im 23 years old Dude. Germany learned from history and is now one of most popular countrys in the World and helps a Lot of other poor countrys by sending money to them and we have allmost no racism here. Look at the USA, so many people hate each other just because they look different, or have a different Religion or whatever. Trumps america is the most racist country in the World. Just my oppinion dude

 

Or just maybe he meant it in the same way that it’s used in common parlance as a verbal shaking of the head when you hear something that strikes you as odd. But, yeah, an ugly take like yours? Only in America.

 

It's been a common phrase used for decades and not meant as disrespect to the United States. Relax and quit making it into a big deal as it was harmless.

 

nationalism doesn't cover up racism....and fact...injustice does occur on a regular basis...America didn't pay him with an NBA contract....he earned that himself in America....some people don't earn wealth...they inherit it and run for president. Not going to deny there is an ugly side to America (and almost every country), and we should definitely not ignore it, but you should read about the genocide's that's occurred in some African countries the last couple years over looking different and religion, you don't have to look very hard to see that there are much worse places in terms of racism and discrimination.

For me, the "Only in America" was meant to be a dig at how we elected Trump as president despite most not liking him. Before that statement gets attacked, it would have been similar if Hillary would have gotten elected. The system is broken whether you are white, black, or any other color.
