MarAzul at the Morro Bay Yacht Club guest dock. Need to get a better handle on the weather! Had 25 knot wind on the nose yesterday coming up here from Pt. Conception. It made for a Nasty sea for about 2/3 of the trip. The Sea was all worked up like a washing machine! Not fun.
Tucked snugly into San Simeon Cove just south of Pt. Sur. Beautiful cove here. The hook is down in sand, it feels pretty good for the night. Surprised to have internet here.
The yacht I rode on last year was supposedly the 3m corporate yacht in the 50s or something like that. They brought it from Seattle to Tahoe in pieces I think the guide said. I'll Google it and link a story if I can find it.
Wow! It seems like it would almost be easier to build one there. How the hell do you transport one 80 x 20 x 20? It would have to be in pieces but, that rubber tape won't due to get it back in service.
Ah! There is Hearst's Castle! I could not see it in the day time the past couple days and no real good reason apparent. Must have been enough moisture in the air to obscure it with out looking like fog. It shows up, all lit up at night so I knew right where to look. It works today.
uh....you realize you don't need a clear day to see it Marz....you can just walk up the hill and go inside it. I visited the Hearst Castle museum in San Luis Obispo while visiting my family there
Nothing that dramatic going on. Just wind gust sneaking over the hill from the sea. And the rollers sneaking around the point, slipping through the Kelp bed. Damn! Three more days of this before it's a go. Hopefully to the Noyo river (Fort Bragg) to hangout for the next opportunity. Bodega Bay is plan B.
About Six miles off the coast of Big Sur. Surprisingly, I have 4G LTE service out here. Not a town withing many miles!
