We live in different realities. Ellis was the starter with Curry. Are you disputing that? Klay replaced Ellis. We don't have a Klay (yet).

I would settle for a net plus defender who can shoot above 33% and has the potential to create his own shot some day. You and I have very different views of CJ. I can't see how anyone could watch what NO did to the Blazers and come out of it thinking CJ is a good defender.

Within two weeks Toronto have become exactly the reason why we shouldn’t stand still.

If Toronto can consistently lose in the first round then so can we. I think it takes a good coaching staff, great team effort and fortunate Karma to get the finals.

Awesome. Do you think we're going to go out and hire Brad Stevens away from them? Do you think a new GM is going to fix our financial situation? Certainly not for a couple years.

If you can bring in Pop, Sloan, Phil Jackson, or another proven elite level coach or upcoming guy like Stevens or Budenholzer you could convince me we might see some improvement. But if that guy isn't lined up there is literally no reason to make a change right now.

Our bad contracts will be very tradeable next season as short term deals.

I don't think we're going to go out and find a coach better than Stotts or a GM better than Olshey. I just don't see it.

Tradeable for what? Equal contracts, but how can we trade for good, equal contracts with no assets? Those contracts won't help us anymore with a year left than they are now.

"If we don't have that guy lined up"... We could hire Messina or Budenholzer right now... thats an improvement.

I'm not saying we don't need some changes, just that we don't need to blow it up. If we can improve the team with a trade we should do it.

That said, I would gladly trade Neil Olshey and Terry Stotts for Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens.

The people that advocate the status quo always suggest this in simplicity but never state what type of deal we should pursue.

Nobody's trading for Evan Turner and Meyers Leonard. There's not many realistic proposals that make us better...

Tradeable for a guy who wants out. Or a team who wants to cut salary. See the Paul George deal. Stuff like that.

If those guys would take the job and if Lillard would be on board, and if Olshey and Paul saw eye to eye with them, etc. It might work out.

I wouldn't be opposed to that if it happened. But I also wouldn't go out of my way to make it happen right now. I just don't think it's necessary.

Not this year, no. There may be next year.

I'm not worried about it. We have assets. Aminu is tradeable and so is Harkless. We have the traded player exception.

There are plenty of guys out there who could help improve the team. I'm confident that Olshey will make a change and it will make us better.

    The sky is not falling.

We agree on this. I think Messina would be an upgrade. Budenholzer also. My first choice would be Messina. Been plugging for him for a couple years now.
On the expiring contracts though i think they can maybe work some deals. You are probably better on the contract stuff than i am but it always seems teams are interested in expiring contracts.

There is some room to wiggle with the Mid level and both Harkless or Aminu. I'm not all in on doom and gloom until i see what Olshey does this summer.

They're interested in expiring because they're trying to dump bad salary (we shouldn't extend bad salary pay the next 2 years) or because they're trading a good piece and prefer expiring contracts along with whatever the main asset of the trade is. Teams are never looking to acquire expirings, usually they're trying to accomplish something and it's just preferred. So it's not a big factor.

Do you really expect to trade Harkless and Aminu for a sizeable upgrade? A low 1st round pick isnt going to make that difference.

The trade exception? Average role players are all we'll b3 able to add with that. If theyre above average were gonna have to give something else up, and we don't have much. We trade Harkless and his salary makes the TPE obsolete.

    We're very limited.

People thought Mason Plumlee was untradeable and we traded him for Nurk.....I expect Olshey to find us an upgrade or two this off season as well
