I like the Astros. And yes, it did have an impact. My son had his iPhone x stolen at the parade.

As for the Blazers, no. It would have zero to minimal impact. But I went to the first game, and love my Blazers. I hate that they seem content to be good, and don't seem to want to take the chances to be great.

 

Do you have season tickets?

 

For about 30 years. Gave them up before last season because of health costs.

Why?

 

I just figured that someone who didn't like the team might not have season tickets.

I don't know where to post this. Good article on how Boston succeeds. Talks a lot about mental toughness. But also talks about how they have built a roster where almost every player can switch on defense without a problem.

That's where the NBA is headed. Switchability is a thing. It's why it would've been nice to trade CJ for Paul George last year, as PG could've started at SG and we'd have pure switchability between PG, Harkless, and Aminu. Toss Collins in at center and that's switchability between 2-5.

It's another reason why I want to draft Chandler Hutchison.

 

I really think Hoopsjack works for the Blazers or is associated in some capacity... only way to explain that he defends every single move Neil Olshey has made... if you complain about anything to do with roster he is right there to defend it... sounds like an Olshey puppet. I’ve even seen him defending Neil on Blazers edge comments section of articles

 

My thought is (and hoopsjock I'm sorry if this isn't true), is that hoops is a little on the older side, and has seen the ups and downs, and is kind of just patient (for better or worse) and wants to see the Blazers take the slow and steady improvement route in hopes that they eventually build into a contender. I think he see's the idea of lots of trades, or a rebuild as a big step back and will keep the Blazers from being competitive for a long time. I also think he believes that the Blazers core can win a championship if the right pieces are put around them (Nurkic, Dame and CJ).

I don't know if I think that group is good enough to win a championship, unless the "right" pieces are really, really good and more than just role players, I don't really Believe NO is the right guy to put those pieces in place, or to make the right choices (that doesn't mean I'm right). I just don't believe in NO, at this point for reasons I've said way to many times.

Reality is at this point PA seems to believe NO is the guy, so I will probably keep saying how much I don't believe in NO, until he eventually fails, or I have to admit that I was wrong.

I don't think Hoops is paid by the Blazers (but who knows), I just think he is more or less looking for small changes and building slowly to get there because he believes that eventually they can get there with Dame.
