I never said he could trade him after the draft. I simply said NO knew. If he knew when Hughes did, how do you know he DIDN'T know earlier? Do you know when NO was notified? If not, then you don't know when either, but it is plainly clear that many people knew before they admitted to knowing.

The gray area is how much earlier did they know?

None of us know this, but we DO know that NO is in charge of things like this. If he didn't explore all possible scenarios including LMA leaving and just banked on him resigning, that was a mistake. You dont take chances like that without having a plan b and c.

Oh I know and my point is NO is a closed lipped MF. unless anyone here was privy to the convo WHEN NO was notified, nobody really knows when he was aware, or could have figured it out.

So if Durant gets hurt in game 2 and then leaves this summer in free agency, Myers should've foreseen that and traded him at the deadline? Riley should have foreseen the Heat losing to the Spurs in the Finals and LeBron leaving for the Cavs? Presti should've foreseen Durant choking a 3-1 lead over the 73 win Warriors and deciding that he wasn't good enough to beat them so he joined them?

I just want someone to show me that they thought trading Aldridge during a season where we had a shot at something special was what they would've done AT THE TIME. Not based on what happened afterwards.

lol, so because he knew shortly before free agency opened then he probably knew before the trade deadline? Now that's some seriously hilarious speculation there. It's impossible to have a logical discussion with many of you posters as you guys create your own manufactured scenarios.

lol, good luck with that one. Did you get your pay check from Olshey yesterday? It's great to watch these guys fabricate their own stories.

I think people are downplaying the emotional effects the Wes injury had on this whole process. Before the injury everyone seemed happy and there was no talk about Aldridge leaving. That moment was like a little kid having his balloon pop. It changed everything.

Orion, he did have a plan B. His plan was for 3 years to have all his big contracts expire the same year so he could rebuild if Aldridge left or bring everyone back if he stayed. You can't plan it any more thoroughly then that.

It would be just like Blake Griffin being traded 4 months ago.
Aldridge & Griffin are on the same level

The Clippers weren't even in the playoffs at the time of the trade. Not even close to the same thing. The Blazers were likely going to be the 2nd seed with no clear favorite in the West.

No, but I followed his history for the first 7-8 years of his career to have a good feel of his character. It's not rocket science.

    And you did right????????????????

Really? I'm playing your card man., Nobody knows. But you apparently. So how are you right and im wrong if its ALL speculation...
how about this. You are IMPOSSIBLE to have a mature conversation with. IM speaking basketball and have done nothign bu this morning, but here you are laughing at me and saying its impossible to have a ligical discussion, trying to [paint some of us in a corner. I just wanted to discuss things, but you cant just do that without insulting and trying to claim your opinion is right compared to others speculations.

    Fuck this is weak sauce.

I am my own person. Not one of these guys.... this is the very statement that makes you not very well liked around here.....

You would do yourself justice to take heed to some advise that has been given to you over the last month or so. Ease up on the personal shit, or I will go back to shitting all over your posts again.

Its all opinions. you are no more right than anyone else when its an opinion based on hearsay and speculation.

Why you cant just agree to disagree instead of finding ways to insult is baffling....

Anyone want to discuss this in a mature manner and understand that its all opinions and speculation and not have to belittle the other person, well... i'm right here......

Until then, back to real life cause this discussion is a waste of my time when it goes sideways like this so quickly. Im looking for mature debate. Not playground antics.

See I disagree. Eveyrone knows mood can change. HE should have been by LMA's side and feeling him out. Forcing the truth out of him.

Its all speculation. Im done with this thread for now... not enough mature posters like yourself.

All GM’s job status goes back to how wel they guessed things would pan out and how well they planned those things. No it’s not fair, but we blame Presti for not foreseeing that Harden would be an MVP candidate someday, and choosing Ibaka over him. We will Blame Presti for the moves he made last summer that didn’t pan out. Just like we bash NO in hindsight for moves that didn’t pan out, and praise him for the ones that did. In this case the situation with Aldridge didn’t pan out, so we can criticize Aldridge, and NO for it. When the Blazers traded for Afflalo a lot of national people thought it was a good trade, in hindsight it was t, GM’s get judged by results that’s the way it is.
