My son and I took my wife...his mom..trout fishing up the McKenzie from Leaburg.....didn't catch anything but got a couple bites...a bald eagle dove 90degrees into the rapids and speared a rainbow trout right across the river from me...the wife had a great time even though we didn't catch supper. next to us a family of Canadian geese were teaching their gooslings to swim...couldn't have been more than a couple weeks old if that..was fun....our son took a video of it...at least I got some casting practice in and didn't loose my spinner

A bad day fishing is better than a good day doing anything else. What a great story about the Bald Eagle.

A cousin of my mother had a cabin at least 1/2 mile from anyone else on the Kettle River about 3 miles from Canada and maybe 15 or 20 miles from Idaho. My family went up there every summer. We used to sit on the backyard deck and watch a very large Osprey that would perch atop a pine tree right across the river. One year we went up there and a larger bird took it's place. What could be larger? It was a Bald Eagle. We use to watch him chase the many squirrels in the woods as well as an occasional duck flying up or down the river. I'm an Oregon State grad and perhaps the coolest was watching a family of Beavers that would also go up and down the river.

I love getting out in the woods and I love stories about the outdoors such as yours.

1969-1983. Our best friends are the son and daughter-in-law of one of the company founders. I never knew this until after I quit the company. I mostly worked in TM500. Had a scope on my desk in 1978 that had a sweep rate faster than the speed of light.

I probably watched 60-65 of their games. Ya, I'd say so. Also enjoyed watching Milwaukee this season even though they didn't live up to the hype.

This is why I don't participate in the Mrs. HCP jokes. I saw her and @HCP at a preseason game several years ago. Kudos to Big John. The guy definitely married up by several points. We may not think much of him around here, but he's obviously an overachiever in other areas of his life.

Spending your Mother's Day at home with your wife is a great way to spend the day with her.

WTF? She did not pull that out of her bag. Why would she be standing there with a gun in her hand? If it were real I mean. Where's the blood? The guy's doing pretty good for someone who just got shot with a big ass hand gun. Unless there is some corroborating story, I'm going to have to call staged bullshit.

Oh, yeah, Happy belated Mother's Day to all the moms; even those who pack!
