I just can't get into the superhero-comic book movie shit. It's all just way too over the top and corny for me. When I attempt to watch (someone forces me to watch) them, I just see a children's movie that i want to be over so I can do something that involves my hands, legs or brain. Not talking shit, I know plenty of intelligent adults who are all about these films, I just have never been able to get past the corny aspect myself.
Nice to know that logically, white people can have pro white opinions and groups without being racist. Were the Tiki Torch morons anti black or just PRO white. Cuz if just PRO white that shouldn't be a problem. Right?
What did you expect? It's a superhero movie. I thought overall it was pretty good. My wife thought it blew chunks, but I mean we didn't walk into it expecting a movie like West Wing or anything.
Sure, but did you watch it expecting something other than a superhero movie? You said you like political movies. I do too. West Wing is my all time favorite TV show. But I didn't watch Black Panther looking for Politics. I watched it seeking some fantasy entertainment, because that's all it is meant for and to expect anything more is setting yourself up to be dissapointed. Just sayin. Kinda like me watching the movie M.A.S.K and thinking it sucked cause I like comedies and I didn't laugh enough in the movie.
I expected an average Marvel Movie. The hype and box office numbers suggested Dark Knight quality but I didn't expect that. I expected something like Dr. Strange where it was a bit boring because they were setting up for the sequels. Not Sharknado meets Casino Royale and Batman. I genuinely laughed when the woman was skating down the road in her car seat and the movie looked beautiful but we have a Superhero that can supposedly beat Ironman and they stole the bad guy directly from him and got away. It was a mess.
I think Im such a fanatic of the superhero movies, turning my childhood comics into some sort of conceptual reality,. that I think they all kick ass. Well the new ones, the early Xmen were really cheazy... but I still watch them.
Dviss doesn’t understand that movies which feature mostly black actors can be criticized too. The movie is dog shit. Just like most movies these days. Guess I’m racist. Oh yeah, try saying white excellence after your opinion. It wouldn’t work. Black excellence is fine though. Double standards will forever exist so long as victim narratives exist
I liked the movie. It didn't really standout to me though. The first Iron Man was great. The first Guardians of the Galaxy was really good. Thor was always kinda..... meh. I enjoyed Ragnarok though. I also really enjoyed the first Avengers movie. Probably not even half of the movies were really good.
I watch all superhero shit. Something draws me to it. Let’s face it. Most marvel movies are predictable and mediocre. When Chris Nolan did the Batman trilogy, that shit was amazing because you had good actors, and good writing involved mixed with a legendary director. I liked Deadpool because it was different. It didn’t make me laugh a shit ton but it’s clever and different. Logan was a raw ass story. I felt like that movie was really good. Unfortunately though most superhero movies suffer with the same predictable shit and tropes. The same hero character arc.
Watched Black Panther last night. Typical, mildly entertaining but immediately forgetful standard action movie with no plot twists or surprises. No standout performances, weak dialogue, the usual array of effects... Like a hundred others, not sure what all the "controversy" is about?
Lol pro white, pro black, pro whatever... all sounds so dumb. That goes for (insert skin color) power/pride. There is only one thing I am pro/power/pride about and that is AMERICA!
I thought it sounded stupid too, but....if other people are just gonna be pro them I gotta look out for me don't I? I had originally put my cutoff at Americans but apparently that's too broad.
