I have no words for this offense today.

The Yankees got him from Washington, he's made several appearances.

If you told me that german would go almost 6 and only allow 4 runs (3earned) before this game started I’d be happy with that. Problem is he is going against the “ageless” Verlander and Verlander only needs his team to get him 3 runs to win. I am curious as someone else already stated about how all these Houston pitchers keep having career years as they are getting older and older. Be interesting to see if any of their names ever pop up on a test.

What sucks for this team is that offensively and defensively they are good enough to win it and compete for a long tine. However, their pitching is atrocious and is why they won’t win one. They must get a starter and sadly, deal some good prospects to get a truly good pitcher who is a legit #2 (I personally would’ve loved them to have traded for Coke or even signed Arrieta in the offseason) and because of the fact that they’re the Yankees they’ll have to overpay for it too.

While German was by no means electric today he managed to keep the score and the game manageable...offense and defense could/should have bailed him out.

...yeah, if Cashman makes a deal we'll have to overpay...but hell, if they're gonna overpay, let's overpay for a #1 or #2...adding another backend of the rotation pitcher won't really help us.

I would never ask of a #5 starter to be electric, just to keep my team in it. He did exactly that. Good job by him today even though he’ll get the L and some will blast him.

Oh definitely. Nothing would piss me off more than to see this team trade for a back end of the rotation guy regardless of who they give up. It would be unnecessary and illogical. We don’t need it, we need a front end guy who can go deep into games consistently. Preferably we would want a ground ball pitcher.

Doesn't matter weather you lose 1-0 or 10-0 a loss is a loss. Lots of small fuck ups by Gregorius, GT, Germans 3 run "mistake". Disappointing loss today. Yankees will have to find some wins because the Blue Jays will be no help against Boston.

I'd suspect there is some medicine cabinet raiding going on. Maybe that old lying as doper Clemens is sharing some of his secrets.

the things that live in this attic of a head.

Odd how Gerritt Cole and Mike Trout as draft picks intertwine. Yanx didn't sign G. Cole (08 draft), and no amount of money was going to change Cole's mind. T/Yanx were awarded a compensation pick in 09, but they squandered that pick for FA Tex.... Did Tex help 'em get to t/W.S.? Yep, but at a steep price, but imo if hindsight's 20/20, then what's foresight, a crystal ball....

Funny how drafts stack up over years, ...
