Take personal responsibility and buy healthcare. If you don't, you're a drain on the economy and you make premiums go up for the rest of us. Plain and simple.
Um, no. People who get everything for free are a drain on the rest of us. I work for a living and am therefore seen as an ATM machine for Democrats to withdraw money from. I get no help from anyone, I only provide. Get your shit straight. You are suggesting I should buy unaffordable healthcare to help prop up an industry proven to be price-gouging. That is your definition of "taking personal responsibility". That is fucking absurd. It's only "plain and simple" when you over-simplify it in childish terms.
Actually no. What we spend on war makes that a drop in the bucket. We spend 620+Bil on defense. That's more than the next 10 countries COMBINED. We have plenty of money. Our priorities aren't straight.
Great points. So my personal choice shouldn't really be much of a drain on the economy. My wife and child have coverage, I refuse to go to hospitals unless I think I'm gonna die. Personal moral decision. I don't think capitalizing on people's livelihood is moral or ethical. Me too, if you can believe it.
I believe it. The single payer part. With regard to you not having healthcare and refusing to go until you're about to die? This action makes my premium higher. Plain and simple. 2 words: personal responsibility.
If he proposes tax cuts then he must be one of the biggest beneficiaries because it's always all about Trump.
good thing she doesnt live in Seattle now. They are making all the wrong moves up there...tax tax tax....piss off business
How is it a bad thing to have a $15/hr. minimum wage when a state like Texas has no minimum wage at all? Me? I don't mind paying an extra 35 cents for a hamburger if it benefits Wookiee's niece.
I pay my hospital bills if I go. I have no negative effect on your premium. I also take care of myself to stay in good health. Insurance companies lobby to make everyone participate in their rigged system, then in turn blame high rates on those who refuse it. This is in order to create an atmosphere where people like me are looked down upon and made to feel irresponsible. The reality is people who eat like shit, don't excercise and drink 7 Mountain Dews a day are the irresponsible ones. But our fantastic healthcare industry loves these people because their constant health issues are a guaranteed revenue source.
Bullshit. If you get cancer have something catastrophic happen to you, there ain't no "paying as you go". There's you going bankrupt. Before Obomney Care that was the leading cause of bankruptcy. Stop trying to justify not being personally responsible.
Lanny, I agree in that a higher min wage isn't such a bad thing, however if it directly effects the hours (reduces) and number of employees, which in Seattle case it has to a degree. But the city gov's answer is to put a head tax on employers and raise the economy so housing cost go way up and companies reconsider if they should stay, or relocate to the city. Im all for young people using minimum wage as a step up to making more, which is really what it was intended. I work filling stations and stock boy for mw but with the goal of getting a better paying job. And I did before going to college.
Geez! I don't know how you can make a more offensive post. I certainly would not call remuneration received for service to the country, Free.
Before Obama care I had coverage, now I do not. The concept was the contribution of Valerie, to as you well point out, get more people to pay for your healthcare by being forced to buy the insurance you buy.
I've seen studies that show the Seattle minimum wage hasn't hurt a thing. Don't get fooled by false news.
With Obamacare I'd go bankrupt either way. Actually, I'd already be broke from the insane premium alone. I'm not willing to give up my family's quality of life to salespeople, I'm sorry. Like I said, my girls have coverage because i don't expect them to adhere to the same ideals as me, and they may have a different standard as to what constitutes a doctor's visit. I won't deny them that. Myself however, I'm willing to stay the fuck away from places that charge $1000 per sneeze in order to save money for the extras I feel my family deserves. That is my right. And it is not the right of a corrupt government to take that choice away from me. I'm not vehemently opposed to health insurance, either. When my company's open enrollment comes around, I may sign up if I think it's worth it. It will depend on price, not some abstract idea of responsibility, or boogeyman scare tactics.
