What pattern? I think you might be confused, people who are pissed off because of personal insults haven't been banned. The people who continually post personal insults have been banned. So that would not be rewarding the asshole, it is removing the asshole.
Should be... I literally don't care if they locked the thread. I'm answering truthfully that as with most people they are making up the rules as they see fit. It is what I expected to happen.
I didn't think he would. In fact people trying to protect him reminded me of the million times he's gotten pissed off about that and said something like "I'm a grown ass man"
For the last time, I've tried to ban myself and the forum software won't let me. You're stuck with this asshole.
Far as I can tell this is the personal insult I made against dviss You..............................logic Hcp..............................vegetables
Naw! You are not even close. You are likable like puppy nuts are cute. Assholes are universal, unmistakable, perhaps we have an untouchable.
Here is how it usually works: 1: Thread is created 2: People start discussing topic 3: People who have preexisting feuds start to fight 4: Sly tries to make a joke and make it about him 5: It doesn't work 6: Sly locks the thread 7: Those people move to a different thread and continue the same fight 8: Rinse and repeat Nothing ever really gets solved. The arguments just move from one thread to another. People still hate each other. The feuds continue.
For what it's worth, I really do try not to hold onto any bad feelings towards people. The closest I come to it would be if someone makes the same annoying argument for the millionth time, that can rub me the wrong way. Or they might make another "look at me! look at me!" post and that gets a little tiresome. But overall I try to look at every thread as a fresh start. Except for Sly..... I hate that guy. What a schmuck.
Heres the simplistic version of how to differentiate a personal insult: Is it about the person? Does it say "you" or the persons screename followed by the insult? If yes, we fix it. If no, it stays. This inculdes opinions about flags (a representation)... Now, if someone says "so and so is an idiot for beleving that" i will edit it. But if its a generalization then its not personal. If you feel it is personal, you can flag it and we will make a decision. If it is kept, you may want to reread it in a different lens, perhaps youre projecting or taking it personal when in fact it isnt. That is the simplest way to look at it. If youre having trouble with that, i suggest rereading and gaining perspective on it. Ive spent time on mt vacation editong and deleting posts using this simplistic formula.
