If the trade is more for the expiring contract, than for ET Noah has basically the same value.

I also believe NO trades pick #24.

But..... To Atlanta for picks #30 & 33.

No logical reason. Just a gut guess.

of the two, ET is more likely to have a break out season and increase his trade value...all he needs is to start off hot next fall and keep it up going into the allstar break...sell high...Noah has all kinds of baggage beyond basketball

swap Chief with Meyers and eliminate the 2019 pick, only include the 24th pick this season and I'd do it

You know the more I think about Turners place on this team the more I'm convinced Paul & Neil want him here. When they signed him its not like they didn't know what type player he is and his strengths & weakness's. They knew and still do, but they got him for the next 2 years of their 5 year plan. Off the bench utility player with energy & team leadership. Way over paid for sure, but I do not see that as a problem for Paul. I bet Turner impressed Paul during his interviews.
Id say he's one of the pieces going forward.
    Just a thought.....

If Aldridge accepts a smaller role, then yes. Dame and CJ can create, but they typically only create for themselves with others standing around and that is my beef with that. You can have one guy in your backcourt doing that, but not two. They are a bad mix even though individually they are talented players.

Nurkic can be a good pnr option, but he can also be a huge defensive liability on the pnr at the defensive end with todays game. It wouldn't bother me them re-singing him because I like certain things he brings, but they have to be able to afford a backup that can be the opposite style center like the type I mentioned above. That would be a great combo center position for them but money is tight so they would have to get lucky in the draft that Bell from Oregon....oh ya. :)

Good talk and I enjoyed your views. Thanks.

Weren't we a top 10 defensive team this past year and top 6 the year before after Nurkic was traded for last year? The numbers say differently than what you're projecting.

    Here's my idea.

    Trade #1
Cleveland gets: CJ, Aminu, Swanigan, #24
Portland gets: #8, Love, JR Smith
Cavs get CJ to a tempt to keep James in town. If not, the get a local kid to be the new face of the franchise. Blazers get this for the pick.

    Trade #2
    Detroit gets: Love + Layman
    Portland gets: Griffin
Pistons get a shooter at PF & get out of Blake's contract. Blazers prep for a another trade.

    Trade #3
Memphis gets: #8 (Bridges), JR Smith, Zach Randolph
Sacramento gets: #4 (Porter), Blake Griffin
Portland gets: #2 (Doncic), Parsons, Shumpert
Griz dump Parsons contract for 19/20 to move down a few spots while still getting the best fit.
Kings get a big name player under contract for several years. They avoid embarrasment since Doncic doesn't want to go there.
Portland gets the best player in the draft while SPAM (spending Paul Allens money).

    Trade #4
Denver gets: 2019 second + cash
Portland gets: #14 (Miles Bridges if available) + Faried

Trade #5 (if Bridges is not available)
    Atlanta gets: #14
    Portland gets: #19, #30, & #33
Pick 19 target -> Huerter, Musa, Hutchinson
#30/#33 -> picks to play in D-League -> Melton, Fraizer, Vanderbilt, Okogie, Trent, or Simons.

    It's not a time issue.
I fully admit that I'm a huge nerd.... it's just I see that as going to the next level. I just can't allow myself to do that

I think Butler could be available because Towns doesn't like Thibs and if Thibs goes, it's likely Butler leaves in free agency. Griffins definitely gettable too.
