    And go where?

We would need to accept an offer plus a genuine contender must want him. Genuine contenders at this point are Warriors, Rockets, maybe Celtics and whoever gets LeBron in the Summer.

He won’t displace Curry or Paul. He would have a chance at Celtics but would they really want to replace Irving?

Who knows what Doncic brings....but we know what CJ (combined with Dame) brings. If roster moves were guarantees, there would be nothing to them. All I know is that Portland has lost 12 of their last 13 Playoff games with one of the top 2 back-courts in the league that this last season was dead last in assists.

Blazers are buried in NBA Purgatory/Mediocrity. Does Doncic get them out? Who knows....but after several years of Dame/CJ, that isn't going anywhere in terms of Playoff success. Time to try something else.

So Memphis trades Doncic for CJ, because they want to win now for Gasol, but you then argue Doncic and Parsons makes us a better team NOW and in the future. Seems contradictory.

It's not that CJ isn't a good player. He just doesn't seem to be a good fit with Dame. Perhaps with Conley (one of the better defensive PG's in the league) it will work out better for the Grizzlies.

CJ is an amazing scorer especially as an ISO player who dribbles the holy living crap out of a basketball. But that doesn't seem to do much to produce Playoff wins when combined with Dame.

It’s about team fit... Memphis needs a go to scorer... Blazers need more balance and depth.

Doncic has much more potential than CJ. I even posit he'll be the Larry Bird to Ben Simmon's Magic Johnson.

Not saying he'll be as good as Bird, obviously. But he's a special player who has better advanced stats than Jokic, Dragic and Porzingis when they were in Europe.

In that sense, we can imagine a 25 ppg/7/7 type guy who has high IQ and has a better chance of developing a reliable jump shot than Simmons.

Whereas, CJ is just a 20/4/4 with average IQ.

I would take him at 2 if we had a way to get there! Luka isn't a college rookie, he's been playing professionally over seas for several years now. I see less risk in a player with this much exposure in today's world of video and scouting.

He was 17 when he played in this video against OKC.

Parsons isn't any good, and is always hurt, I wouldn't include him as a player that's going to even get on the court. His upside is Ryan Anderson at this point and he's not going to be able to guard his shadow, he was slow before the injuries...
If Doncic is "that" good why is he available at #4? Not that great players don't drop in the draft, but most of the time if a guy is a known generational talent they don't drop that far.

It's not that I'm against trading CJ, I just wouldn't do it for this package.

This draft has the most star potential in the top 10 in the last decade... going 4 isn’t a knock on Doncic... this draft is that stacked in top 10... Bagley, Bamba have just as much upside

No way, Doncic is overrated, he stucks the offense all the time, goes 1 on 4. Cj is the much better player

You realize that kind of rhetoric is said almost every year by some "expert" out there. We won't know how good the class is for a couple years...

Maybe said on talent or production in college, the difference this year is the unique physical attributes each of those players have to go with their resume... that is not available almost every year

Who knows, I've heard it so many times it doesn't mean anything to me at this point. I wait to judge until a couple years after they get drafted.
I would rather trade him to Philly for the #10 and Saric, or something like that. Because I'd get a pick and a not completely useless player. A lot of this is because I think Chandler wasn't that good pre-injuries and has hardly played in a while, I think he's a net negative on a huge contract. We complain about ET, we'd be paying a bench warmer super star money...

Speaking on bad contracts... CJ will make between 25-30 mil per year the next 3 season... that’s is superstar money for a non all star

He's as good as Kemba Walker, Kyle Lowry, DeMar Derozan, who have all been All Stars. CJ has room to improve but he's shown that he can carry this Blazer team while Dame was out with injury.
