Huerter has a promise from someone. Speculation is Utah at 21. My guess is Milwaukee at 17.

Cool cool rookies, what we’re not talking about enough is who are we trading the pick for?

I doubt we trade the pick, unless it's to trade up the pick while taking back Faried.

Why would you doubt it, when everything is pointing towards just that? The Faried trade would go against everything Olshey has said as well. That’s more of a fan fantasy.

There's no one available for the 24th pick that'd be worth getting.

Who's available for #24 that'd be worth getting, in your opinion?

I think we will take BPA at 24 and try to include in a trade later. Unless we have a potential trade set up and we find out who they want?

In general or for Portland? We don’t even know who’s going to be available. Someone always falls. Musa is one name. I like this class of wings. But the point is teams will always be looking for rookie scale contracts, especially if they get to dump a vet contract in the process.

Waiting till free agency allows us to trade whoever we took at #24 (assuming we don't resign them), as well our 2019 1st.

Worth getting in a trade for Portland, since you say they'll trade #24 for a player.

We don't need another Mason Plumlee for a 1st round pick type of trade...

If we get a wing version of Plumlee, I’ll take it.

Washington isn't going to trade Oubre for the 24th pick...

Don't get salty. That's my point. You're not going to get an Oubre level player for the 24th pick, so I don't expect it to get traded straight across for a player.

Plumlee was a more productive player than Oubre but ok.

Even Harkless, who put up better seasons at a younger age in Orlando than oubre only went for a protected second.

Recall, at the time Mase was a second-year player putting up an 18 PER off the bench behind Brook Lopez. I wouldn't have thought he would be available with the 23 pick, and was pleasantly surprised with the deal. The comparison between Plumlee 2015 and Oubre now is actually a pretty strong one.
