He’s too valuable. The only way they would trade him would be if they got a haul in return. They will probably include him in a proposed deal for Kawhi and if that doesn’t work, they will integrate him into the team next to LeBron and George and try to shop him when another superstar becomes available. We don’t have anything to offer that would get you remotely close to getting Ingram. Unless you mean the other, 32-year old Ingram they played at the end of last season.

He won't tell them to send Ingram to Portland for some change though, will he? If he tells them to trade Ingram or he doesn't come (I have no idea why he'd ever do that), they'll take the best deal possible and us offering them a bunch of average picks or average players won't cut it.

When you are basically the best player on the team in the crappy East, you should do more than that. Yes it does, He is saying If LBJ says he wants to go to LA, but LA needs to get rid of Ingram, They wont just let Ingram go for nothing, they will still go for the best package... a package most teams can make better than we can. This means Ingram to Portland is all but not possible.

Is it though? LA will take LeBron and Cleveland will take whatever they can get. They have no leverage. If LeBron wants to go to LA, and wants Ingram on his team, Ingram will be on his team.

It is, because....NOBODY was talking about what Cleveland would take. The premise of the initial post was the notion that if both George and Lebron went to the Lakers, there wouldn't really be much playing time for Ingram, so perhaps LA would be willing to deal him. Obviously, if Lebron wants Ingram to stay, he stays. The hypothetical was solely based on the notion that LA (and by extension, Lebron) didn't want Ingram to stay.
Personally, I don't see it. But in theory, if Lebron and PG are taking up 70+mpg at the forward spots, there's not a lot of time for Ingram, unless he plays out of position. Honestly though, I could see him playing the 2 with Lebron and George and thriving.

I'd argue that "combo" guards are more common now, see CJ and Dame. And that SF and PF have become more interchangeable, see Moe and Chief.
So the consensus answer your question @LayneStaley, appears to be that the reason we don't figure a way to bring Ingram here if PG and LBJ go to the Lakers is because his game is not incompatible with theirs. All three can likely play together without any conflict.
Bro, LeBron can play all 5 positions. PG probably 3 Ingram 2. KD has played from 2-4. I'd disagree with your assessment.
